So there must be a grind to get good items but flat out bricking once you got the good items feels bad to me
I think a decent fix would be to use stygian stones and legendary pit mats for a reset. Now for the grind. The more GA’s the more mats required for one reset. you could make a single ga item only require 10 stygian stones. 2x GA needs 25. 3x GA would need 50.
This would still keep rng and just because you farmed the stones to reset the item doesnt mean you will get it on the 2nd try or even the 10th but it gives a path forward to make your pefect 3x ga items perfect for your build. Its also a way to change the temper if you want to try another build
What are your thoughts? Community seems split and its really hard for the devs to make everyone happy but keeping things how they are is going to do more harm then good. Another option is to remove the bad GAs we keep getting like life per sec and life per hit and make it more common?
I want to be clear I play this game a lot but I am burned out at this point with the current system. I dont want free items or a easy grind but I do want to be able to put in work and earn my item. This proposal would not be a easy grind and you would probably only use it as a option for those really rare items.

I think 5-20 Scattered Prisms would be better than Stygians, but there definitely should be a way to reset the tempers on an item.

Prisms are time gated sadly but still a idea

To a degree, but I’d argue you can farm 5 prisms faster than you can farm 10 Stygians at pit level 100.
10 Stygians is roughly 55 level 100 pit runs.
yup. I chose that to keep the hardcore people happy as well with a grind and not free items given
I think asking players to run 550 level 100 pits to reset one 3 GA item is a little more hardcore than even degens would be comfortable with. That’s a billion gold in Stygians.
I agree with you in principle, but I think we can dial it back a notch.
Hell no! Tempering is good as it is, I don’t want to “farm” for my loot. I want to find, temper it and if it fails look for another one rather than sit 24/7 farming for “reset”.
Not to mention whole content just got nerfed and made easier for you.

as it sits very few people get lucky with their gear to first find it then not have it brick. its unhealthy. keeping as it is will be a big L. You dont have to engage in whatever change they choose to do but when bad rng can happy over and over with no bad luck protection players will get screwed and eventually just quit
I really doubt it considering how much loot you get. Heltides literally showers you with loot left and right. You’ll temper your loot in no time. If you play longer you’ll notice some items barely have any RNG in it like for example “weapons”. They all nearly drop the same affixes witch are “stat, life/dmg” and that’s it, a 99% upgrade for you. In the end you’ll get plenty of rolls to make what you want.
I won’t believe you if you’ll say since S4 started you still haven’t tempered things you want, there’s no possible way. I recently leveled up new char Rogue, took me 13 hours to get to level 100, temper all my loot in that time, do some low level ubers, nmds 100, pit t61. I’m like already blasting through out the content. Now the only thing left for me to do is the Tempering and Masterworking, witch I enjoy very much, just because they have RNG in it and doesn’t guarantee you a perfect outcome in the end. So you can look for another Item and that’s what I like about it.
These bad luck protections, loot protections doesn’t belong in ARPG’s.
The only workaround is if they add a new server, witch I doubt they will.

Free resets, no cost to reset period, no limit outside the usual. Keep the limit rather than scam me outta materials roll the sam crap 7-10 times instead.
Limits need to go, and nothing needs to be introduced for the ‘other side’ to feel better.

Can you backup that statement with numbers? Or did you just make it up?
You are describing an item generator. This genre is clearly not for you.
how are prism timegated? goblins drop them like 100% of the time. i got hundreds after this past week
You’d be able to do that too, why does your cake have to come at the expense of others?
Because I didn’t buy an MMORPG simple as that.
I think you need to re-evaluate yourself. That kind of mentality goes way beyond video games and it’s pretty entitled/toxic. Cheers bud.

Sorry, but entitled are the ones that ask for loot protections.
I’ll decide what’s for me thanks
It’s a difficult situation. On one hand, you have a system that give us more power than pretty much ever. On the other hand, striking out on that system leaves some players feeling bad.
Making it any easier would give players access to that power much earlier. Doing nothing risks a significant portion of the playerbase.
Would making it easier lead to more complaints about how expensive resetting would be, inevitably seeing that cost reduced as well? Would leaving it as is really cause the game to lose players?
Yes and no. I mean you cant have the good wothout the bad. At the same time if everyone is appeased you end up with a seasonal weekend game.
D4 is already watered down. The loot hunt is all thats left but if you remove that you have 2 days of gameplay per season.
Drops are easy to find. People claim perfect 3ga but in reality it a 3ga/5. Its not 5/5 till after tempering. You cant brick a 5/5 if it was never 5/5 to begin with.
Imo system is good. It has a lot of power and still holds some arpg elements with the over simplified loot. Something doesnt roll the way you want you just find another.

well atm the very loud people like siN4r for expample just want to say screw you all. Its here to stay but then again I dont know if anything will make these people happy.
of course I can> i have a full stash tab full of 2 ga and 3 ga items all bricked. heart seeker bow is the worse offender. we first have to land a 1 in 5 temper with the rest being bricked then a 1 in 4 that all the other are brick. I wouldnt be here complaining if I didnt care about the game or was making stuff up
