Progress Between Torment I and Torment II Feels Broken

I have the highest end lvl 750 gear and just barely made it to Torment II. Enemies take forever to kill and 99% of the drops are the same lvl 750 gear from Torment I! What am I missing here? It feels like I hit a wall of progression and now a wall of little to no fun.

yeah it’s pretty bad. I moved to T2 because enemies were literally melting in my presence on T1, and it’s like I went from Normal to old World Tier 3 at the snap of a finger.

made even worse by the fact that a power-800 weapon is barely an upgrade from a power-750 weapon.

so the only way to go past T2 to T3 is to copy some lame crappy boring cookiecutter META build from those stupid sites.

Ok, so it’s not just me then. The gameplay overall with Spiritborn is awesome but the Torment tiers and gear progression feel horrible.

I don’t think the progression from Torment levels are smooth if you are not running meta or broken SB builds. You will hit a wall until you find a way to chip that wall.

This was my experience with my Centipede SB. But my advantage is I started with a build planner that I theorycrafted back in September without relying on any existing guides. So I have a pretty good idea where I am heading at

I am also used to building my Sorc Firewall until I hit a wall in previous seasons so the feeling isn’t new. Except this time I am running SB and able to find ways to chip that wall. My experience pushing my Firewall Sorc back then was way more punishing. I had to MW 12/12 by running the old Pit 65s to 100s because it can’t do Infernal Tier 7 for Neaths.

You need to get more paragon and level your glyphs.

Wait till you try to jump to T3. Its even a bigger leap.

I would say do more in T1, especially IH with the big chest dropping Ancestral gear.
I just transitioned to T2 and all but one ring is ancestral and at 4/12.

Sure I could have come here sooner…but mats don’t have levels. And it was easier to farm IH in T1…not that I have done one in T2 yet.

I think my paragon is around 120, I wanted to get a bare minimum of the 5 glyphs and I will fill the boards in now. I am on Druid. Going to go try Grigoire in T2 now.

Yeah, I am loving VoH overall but this T1 to T2 transition feel untested.

My biggest improvement from T3 to T4 was leveling glphys. T4 is now a faceroll.

I think it is really up to the player to know when they want to transition.
So after I posted that, I did some IH in T2.
In T1 I was getting like 600-1000 Aether.
In T2 I got like 200…
So that tells me…farm IH in T1 for all the mats and Ancestral gear. Even if the drop rate is better in T2 if you are not hitting the same numbers it can be overall worse.
With that in mind I can also fill out my paragon while I farm mats and gear.

I still do the Pits at the levels I need to get successful glyph levels.

I see no reason to rush, I would rather rush through T2 to get to T3 fully decked out. Mats don’t have levels.
Also I am on my own Druid build not SB.

Oh and I did wreck Grigiore in T2 that wasn’t even close.

Strangely enough, the pit floors a few after the t2 threshold felt easier.

If you’re trying to unlock & play T2 with just 2 lvl15 Glyphs GL doing it

Having a 3rd Glyph opened and leveled up to 15 is like #1 priority - trust me learned the hard way

Or at least try unlock a 2nd node that’s Legendary

You need to hangout melting in T1 to get some masterwork and paragon done to ease the transition. You cant really leave the second you start stomping on T1. A tiny bit of master and paragon goes a LONG way into the next tier.

It’s funny because the jump in each torment level is so big that I had the situation (more than once) in which my current difficulty I was one shotting tormented duriel, but in the next tier I could barely get him to 90%.

This is true and it’s a design problem. There’s too vast a chasm between what exploiting the math of the design can do versus the average build.
