For the original game on release you paid 70. Now for the expansion that has only 1/5 of new content at most you shall pay 40? It should be 1/5 of 70 rounded up, so it should be 14 rounded up to 20. So 20 would be the fair price on release for that expansion.
If it is only so little new content in the expansion, then I won’t buy it as long as it costs more than 20.
If the expansion would contain three new heroes and three new areas, etc. a price of 40 would be reasonable. But is not three, not two, but only one new hero, one new area, etc. and thefore it should cost like 14 or 20 at most on release.

Is there any expansion for any game that has worked this way?
Ok, dont buy it or wait for it to go on sale or just dont buy it.

Dont buy it if you can’t afford it or don’t want to support the game.
That is the clearest way to communicate your dissatisfaction/destitution.
However, they are going to sell a buttload and your protest will be about as effective as this post you made.

Im just glad it ONLY costs 40$. The gaming industry as a WHOLE seems hell bent, on titles costing 100$ for base, and 50-70$ for DLCs.
The day they pull it off, is the last day i play any newer games at all.
One thing you need to learn about business is they will charge what the market will bear. Simple as that. They have a responsibility to maximize profits for shareholders as it is a publicly traded company.

It isn’t expensive by Blizzard standards. They’ve been charging $40 for expansions since 2001. The next WoW expansion is $50 so be glad they aren’t charging that much.
Most of the players learned this lesion - Blizzard exploit players on many levels in past few years…they started by really greedy. Now when they back some money from expansion, they will start reduce price.
Why bump a 6 month old thread?

Don’t pay for something that is overpriced and doesn’t add anything new to the game. The power lies with the consumers. I didn’t buy it and preferred to save my money for other games. Blizzard doesn’t deserve to see the color of our money.

Decent price for DLC is 30e. So VoH is overpriced by 10e. It is not a big deal. If it is a big deal for you, you should focus on different things than gaming.
Other thing is if DLC is even worthy of anything. If yes for you, buy it. If not price doesn´t matter.
Good thing you are not required to buy it!
Only if you want to keep playing game release not even 2y before you paid 70bucks for.
Yes.
I don’t think you are reading the post in its correct tone. He is not saying “Go away”.
Blizzard can charge whatever they want, it is up to everyone individually to decide if it is worth it.
Spoiler: It is not.

Theres not even a 500 dollar DIV Supporter Package containing a speed tuned unique collector pet… pained grunt!!!
Contradicting your own statement?
Ooopsie!
Sharing my opinion on the point is not contradicting.
There are some things in the English language that are just implied and don’t need to be explained to people who don’t understand.
He can still go make his own decision for $30.
Considering I have spent 5x that on other games since the epxansion went on sale means it is not worth it (TO ME). See how that is implied without what is in the parenthesis, and did not need to be stated explicitly?? The sentence works without that, and it is implied if I am saying it, it is my opinion.
