It’s not doing anything tried reloading four times now.

I may as well wait for 7am it’s 2440 here.

Pre-load done! muwahahahahaha!

Thanks, I found it and unchecked it. Now I’m down to 9MB/s lol. I knew I should have started early tomorrow.

Not sure if this was mentioned already, but preload is only available to those who prepurchased.

oops. out of the frying pan. Unchecking didn’t really change the speed on that download probably because it was already an established link. I wasn’t going to restart BN though to test it.

Reboot the PC. That normally gets it going if restarting Bnet does not.

whoop whoop whoop whoop hype train!

My 10Mbit DSL connection. I’ll be done about this time tomorrow night.

I did a little experiment and started the pre-install, paused it, exited launcher and killed the agent process in task manager.

Copy and pasted the data/indicies and config from the beta D4 folder into the retail one, restarted the launcher and then clicked the cog and ran a scan and repair. That took like 5 minutes, but afterwards, surprisingly I now only have 7GB left to download. Don’t have that fast of a connection so will have to wait for that to finish. Then I’ll probably run another scan and repair just in case and make sure it worked.

Not sure why they couldn’t just have the launcher copy the useful data over if this actually works, but whatever!

:man_shrugging:

Edit: I have finished the 7GB download, then ran another scan and repair just to double check and make sure nothing got messed up. It passed the scan without having to fix anything.

If you happened to save your beta files instead of listening to them and uninstalling, this could save you a lot of time if you have a slow connection.

Done! Fully installed and waiting to go.

Where is our boy Lothrik with the data mine?

Those of you installing, be sure to view this thread for advice beforehand:

One of the key takeaways, be sure to rename or remove the Diablo IV prefs file from the Diablo IV folder under your Documents, if you had previously participated in any of the Betas/Slam.

That will retain previous graphic settings, that might cause issues with the final release. So just FYI.

Good luck. I will be starting my download in about 3 hours. Waiting for 11PM so as to not add the download to my daily count. lol

Downloading but slow 15 MB/s will take a while for 80+ GB

lothrik.github is showing Update now in the title. Hopefully that is the latest database mine coming in hot.

Download speed should be equivalent to in game fps.

It refers to the 20 required characters to be able posting on the forum (he wasn’t willing to write the full word, just enough to reach the 20).

Thanks so much for the info, I was about to either do the same test myself (but with a bit fear of getting registry conflict or similar issue) or delete the beta files (as they claimed in their misleading message).

I feel their message was pretty irresponsible regarding the related ressources waste (which contributes to climate change if you consider the millions of people downloading it from scratch instead of just “upgrading”).
