As someone who never found a Raiment, I find it hilarious that all of those who relied on the synergy with Aspect of Control are now complaining. That was a bug and not intended behaviour.
Also you shouldn’t be using Raiment, it is a noob trap if you want to push end game. Get a DR chestpiece and you won’t be so fragile.
I mean… now I won’t…because it’s not fun having to force-build for survivability and still risk constant one-shotting annoyance. I guess I dodged a bullet by finding a new thing to play.
Never wanted it for damage. Wanted it for the pull because was playing Arc Lash. Well Arc is pretty much dead now anyways, because can’t survive anything. But hey we’ll see.
Aspect of Control was NOT a bug, as much as you want to believe it is and as much as you believe Blizzard calling it that. If you just look at the core mechanics of how CC works on enemies and how all CC applies to staggered bosses, AoC should actually apply dps for all three CC. Secondly, I know it wasn’t a bug because in patch 1.0.2 the damage of AoC was reduced from 30-40% down to 25-35%. Blizzard knew this yet they had the balls to call it a bug that it was applying damage three times. With that knowledge in mind you can conclude that AoC was working as intended. I honestly just think they looked at how people were using it on their staves to get a huge damage boost and said that was too OP and then nerfed it. With Blizzard patching AoC they have literally handicapped the Sorc’s main way to deal dps - through CC. I honestly don’t think this was the correct fix for AoC. Instead of only allowing AoC to apply to one of the three CCs they should have just lowered the percentage on it from 25-35 to 20-30% or something. Even then this specific nerf to AoC was completely unwarranted.
Having an ability that says “X%”, but it’s applied multiple times, does not sound like intended behavior.
If they really intended for it, they would’ve used the word “each” in the wording.
If it was a bug blizzard would have addressed and fixed it within a day or 2. They have done so already with other abilities in this game. If it was a bug how did it not get patched in 1.04? This wasn’t a bug, this is blizzard doing blizzard things.
I think raiment is fine. I still use it because it’s still good, especially if you invest in the correct paragon nodes that give bonus damage to stunned enemies.
I’m lvl 83 and running NM 36-38, but not higher than that yet because there’s no point in farming mobs that are more than 10 lvls higher than you after the patch. No one shots. Slowly progressing higher as I get closer to lvl 100
Again, they already knew this because they lowered the dps % of AoC in patch 1.0.2D from 30-40% to 25-35%. Core mechanics of CC should allow it to apply all three times or they need to change the verbiage completely that it applies only once in the aspect description.
I think you’re technically right, in the sense that the control aspect wasn’t bugged. The code was just written poorly. In the end, it wasn’t blizzard’s intention to multiply the percentage by 3x.
Cc should be staggered and not overlapped, to maximize stunlocks on mobs skillfully, so from this POV change is good. Ofc this and devouring blaze was crutch to the class, and with no compensation as well as other blanket nerfs feels awful
So, if it wasn’t intentional then why would they lower the dps % in patch 1.0.2D from 30-40% to 25-35%. Why didn’t they just fix this supposed “bug” then? They knew this from the beginning. It was intended but now it’s no longer intended? Doesn’t make sense.
