Since launch I’ve had a lot of Fenris Error crashes. Some that freezes my entire computer for a few minutes. I’ve tried all the troubleshooting guides I could find and none worked. Today I played around with my integrated and dedicated gpu. I went into NVIDIA Control Panel and set my dedicated gpu as the PhysX Processor instead of auto detect. So far I have not had any Fenris Errors. Wondering if turning off my integrated gpu would also help fix the error. I have mine on for my Pen Display so would prefer not to have to turn it off. I’m not sure about AMD products but if they have a similar settings, you could try to change that.
I’ve seen other people say that the Fenris error can happen because the game is trying to run via your integrated GPU.
Did not work for me, still crashed 2 seconds after getting into the game ![]()
ive literally tried every trick in the book. putting D4 on the shelves until blizzard actually come out and say something about this error themselves. SQUAD-time ![]()
I’ve got an nVidia 3050 in my gaming laptop. I was having insane issues with crashes and hangs until I forced Diablo IV to always use the nVidia chip instead of the integrated one. What really cheeses me off is this wasn’t necessary with either Beta, Server Slam, or even early access (the first 4 or days of release). But Blizzard did something on, or shortly after, the “official” release that started causing the problems. And they refuse to admit to it or tell us what we’re supposed to do for game stability.
Before doing this my typical play time was 5m - 30m before the game froze or crashed. I just finished playing 2 hours this morning before taking a break to check the forums. Of course… nothing from Blizzard… how can someone ship a bug riddled AAA title and not be offering near daily hotfixes? Broken quest lines, dungeons with monsters appearing inside walls or behind doors that can’t be opened until you kill them, etc. and we’re told to “wait for 13 pages of patch notes” release which you know… you abso-freaking-lutely KNOW will cause a dozen major issues requiring several hotfixes.
