Poor performance on GeForce 1650 / AMD 7 3800

So yeah. I own the PC and PS5 versions. Spent most of my playtime so far on PS5. Tried PC out and my performance is not good. 60 FPS in town…anywhere from 20 to mid 50s in combat. It feels really bad. My friend says my PC should run it no problem. I’m not the most knowlegable when it comes to PCs.

I booted up D3 and it ran perfect. 120fps no problem. Anyone can help me out?

1650 is a very low, not even mid grade GPU
3060 RTX is considered Mid grade now

I Had to upgrade from a 1660 super to a 3060 RTX cuz it was just crap

D3 is over a decade old. What settings are you using? What resolution? If everything is on the lowest setting and you are playing at 720p then the only solution would be to upgrade.

Low end GPU, not much else to it really. 1650 was considered low when it was released and it’s even lower now. You’re going to have to spend more on your PC if you want to play the latest games on it at a decent frame rate. Your friend is wrong.

Whats an ideal upgrade? If i get a new GPU i should be fine right? I dont have to upgrade my CPU?

Depends on what resolution(s) you’re targetting and whether you’re willing to make certain comprises like using DLSS or not always playing at max settings.

I wanna play on Max settings. My monitor is only 1080p but Id like to upgrade as well down the road.

I would say something like a 4070 or a 4070 Ti. That way you get DLSS 3 as well which will give you more flexibility, and you’re covered if you want to move up to 1440p.

Don’t get a 4080 or a 4090 unless you absolutely want to play 4k this generation. If you think you might want to play 4k in the future but aren’t sure you’re better off just waiting for the next generation of 4k cards which should be either cheaper, more powerful, or both.

I really appreciate the information!! After looking at prices…I think my best bet is to stick with 1080p for this generation. lol. so 4070 it is

I’d go at least 3070 right now if you want to get a few years out of it. For 1080p and 1440p with at ‘least’ 60fps for a few years. You will have higher than 60 for most games.

Better than 3070 is obviously an option though. If you’re prepared to pay about 20% more a 4070 would last longer and has better features.

3070 if you want a cheaper option that will do the job.

4070 if you can spare the cash that will do a better job.

Your CPU should be fine.

I blew $800 on a 4070ti just to play d4 in 4k. Now I don’t even play it much anymore, sigh. But hey it runs the game pretty well in 4k at least. 1650 is too outdated as others have said.

No way trying to be rude but a 1650? Thats a very old and, well, bad card at this point. These things upgrade over night, your card is old af.

you can get an A770 and play in 4k like i am

Just to shed some light on this. The crappiest 3rd gen RTX card is 186% more powerful than a GTX 1650.

1650 is a GTX card, not an RTX card. It’s 4 GPU cycles old now.

There’s a variant that are in low end laptops nows. Max Q models.
