You sure the char is dead? I got disco’d and my char list was empty but I’m Softcore… 300202 now when logging in
yeah, we know, thats how its designed, feel free to argue why thats bad design (yes i know it is, but you can’t expect the smooth brains here to just figure it out) though, to make your OP less pointless.
Sorry to hear about this; the main reason I wont play HC at the moment.

andddddd this is why I don’t play hardcore. ESPECIALLY during a launch week when stability issues are ongoing.

I got a guy killed by looking at my loot outside of a dungeon in a helltide. The metros started raining from the sky outside the dungeon and he walked out right into it. RIP Obiwan.
Yes. It is part of an anti rage feature.
If any disconnect happens it auto kills character
Got disconnected in a class dungeon. Char list was empty right after. Quit out of launcher, but now am in a login queue.
That is HC. I lost so many toons in D3 to bad connections, server lag or yoyo stuff.

Don’t play during prime time because these servers can’t handle the capacity.
That’s nothing… You know the church that catches fire and you gotta fight a bunch of villagers? Well I decided to take the fight outside to avoid the DoT from the fire. Villagers didn’t follow me outside for a second or two then in the blink of an eye they were all stacked on top of each other and were in front of me taking a swing. It literally looked like 1 unit with a shadow clone effect… I watched as there was nothing I could do to escape the barrage of strikes. Health was at full too… Enemies aren’t suppose to be able to stack like that… 
Just happened to me to, in log in Q as we speak my char list was empty but i had legit just finished clearing a room and had nothing but flys on me, im hoping my thorns killed them and im alive still. Lmao.
Ya thats how hardcore works.
im getting queued for 5 minutes just to get queued for login for another 4 minutes, only for it to give me an error and close the game so i can start the process all over again!
i cant even get to the character select screen
all this just because i want to play solo
This is why I only create Hardcore characters in offline games. Any game requiring any sort of internet connection, especially one like Diablo IV that doesn’t even have a server in my region, having to play at 150ms latency, I only play non-HC characters.
Finished log in que got error code, now back in line…
