Poker Charms 🃏

Inspired by this post to make a charm post. Can we get charms and charm slots? - PC General Discussion - Diablo IV Forums

Charms would have 5 spaces on your character doll. Each has a suit as well to make poker hands for added bonuses. Higher suits are slightly better so having a pier of 2s is not going to be as good as a pair of Aces. Charms would be tradable.

Charms drop from all activities but are quite rare. Charms have bonus chance to drop from events and world bosses.

Suits: Coins, Angels, Cinders, Demons.

1 - 9: Still 1 - 9.
Jack - Treasure Goblin.
Queen - Lilith

That is a very lengthy post but basically, you are describing the Card system from Lost Ark. You should look into it. Card Sets provide Set Bonuses and can be upgraded. There are different decks with different Set Bonuses. After you “Awaken” or upgrade Cards a certain amount of times, you unlock additional bonuses.

You can equip these Card Sets but also completing Decks gives you (minor) Passive Bonuses.

Yes yes yes!!! We need charms to fill our inventory so we dont have to/cant pick up the lvl 750 tier 4 loot anymore!!! yes!!! yes…yeeeeeeesssss!!!

We need charms, we need 1000 different kind of things we cant even pick up… does this make any sense? If yes… why not?! (after 2 cans of coffee)… btw… i am the great corn…

Charms… CHARMS!!! I dont want charms. I want cool looking and performing magical gear, weapons with awesome effects… glowing and powerful and useful for all kinds of build… but charms… :see_no_evil:

I like it, but I’d rather D4’s charms be themed more like runes and charms/talismans from history, D2, and the charms you see all over Scosglen.

I don’t want a playing card theme or even a tarot card theme, here.

The system you laid out is interesting, though. I would love a complex charm system like this, or even one not quite as complex but more along the lines of how seasons 2 and 3 added new character menus with vampire options and then construct options. Charms could be handled similarly.
I mentioned in another post that I’d like them to do a Charm season at least to see if players like it.
What I don’t want is them to take up inventory like in D2. They should have their own separate “inventory” page, a “charm bracelet” or “belt” so to speak.
If they could add another item slot (belt) where charms could be attached, that’d be cool too. Belts could hold a varying number of charms based on ilvl or rarity (white =one slot, blue = 2 slots, etc.)

OP’s first sentence below the intro:

Pretty sure “character doll” = the slots above the backpack.

Lots of UI possibilities, the clunkiest being you pick them up & manually put them into slots, thus keeping backpack clear. One step up would be, they automatically fill any available slot when picked up. This already happens with vacant item slots in a lot of arpgs. Manual replacement as needed.
