Poison Damage and Damage Over Time

I’m having a hard time finding anything that explains damage over time well.

The goal of my build is to do maximum Poison Damage with Rabies and Poison Creeper. I’ve always played a werewolf druid in D2 and it’s nice nostalgia to have a rabies build that actually works.

How does Damage over time affect Poison damage? I can’t find anything that explains it well.

Also, is the bonus damage from blurred beast Poison Damage? It reads like it’s poison damage.

Is gemming royal amethysts best against Uber Lillith if I’m going max poison build? My only source of vulnerable is through Exploit. I imagine I would get the most damage that way since sapphires won’t work on bosses and I only have Exploit applying vulnerable.

As I understand it, “Poison over time” is both Poison and Damage over time. Both modifiers should work. The one that won’t is “Damage to Poisoned” which triggers if poison is present. Good for Landslide, bad for Poison.

Blurred beast is Poison damage to Poisoned. You need to be poisoned, then it does more poison. Doesn’t add to multipliers, it is a separate attack.
