Lets be real here. Flame Dash was pretty close to unlimited iframe already.
iframes should have some type of limitations, CD, Stamina, whatever. It likely just plays to PoE being faster but I have a feeling this will change for D4 if they keep making the mistake of enemy density.
Unlimited iframe twitch mode is a direct side effect of PoE having a screen of enemies.
Players ask for enemy density but don’t understand the consequences.

PoE 2 does a barrel roll in an attempt to steal Diablo 4’s thunder but fails.
D4 is coded that so every time you evade it loads all the stashes in the zone and also the MTX shop

I’m actually not sure that is a positive. It lower some of the risk/reward in combat by not having a system (evade) as a resource.
Honestly though, neither system would make or break a game, lol
I’ve played a lot of games old and new that limit movements like this so it doesn’t seem like such an odd design choice. Guild Wars 2 immediately comes to mind.

POE has had super fast paced combat where you can shield charge and leap slam non-stop forever. It has way harder bosses than anything in D4.
Even D2 had unlimited teleport and leap and everyone was fine with it.
For some reason the D4 devs just don’t like fun. People play games to mess around, not to be chained to some dev-approved idea of “appropriate gameplay”
Did they mention xp loss on death like POE 1? All you, lovers like dying to their one shots and losing hours of effort?
Enigma (unlimited teleport for all classes) is honestly pretty controversial topic in D2 on whether it ultimately harmed or helped the game. 100% needed unless you had introduced a CD system to Sorc teleport due to economic advantages of teleport but I’d say Enigma is as loved as it is tolerated
I know PoE is faster paced combat as I’ve played it. Still… I don’t think it is some slam dunk difference
The problem is that once you allow unlimited teleportation, everyone that doesn’t have the same gets left behind and they think it’s boring. Only the dude with endless teleportation likes it
I agree enigma is controversial but teleport and leap existed before enigma, even in D2 classic. No-one cared about barbs jumping around or sorcs teleporting non-stop, it was a strength of those classes. Other classes had different strengths that were fun also.
