Please turn off the "USE THE WHEEL TO OPEN CHAT" message!

Title says it all.

Im not sure the exact message and I cant be log-in obviously to look. But I am sure you know to what I am referring. There is a difference between catering to casuals and coddling infants. If we are given basically an in-game tutorial in the form of quests regarding the emote chat wheel, I am pretty sure people can remember to press UP to open the chat wheel.

Please, please turn this off! The UI on console looks worse and is bigger than the PC version. This already breaks immersion, and is a point of contention by itself. But when you add that annoying message, that you arent even given the option to close, it makes it that much more awful.

Okay, let’s make every game have exact same UI and font size they have on PC. Any guesses how long it will take until you start complaining about not being able to read from where you sit (most likely typical 3-5m distance)?

Im a bad guy because I want one thing removed that may cause image retention in my new OLED television?

You fan boys are so brain washed you don’t even know who you are mad at. I love the game you ding-dong… well once I figured out the bright grays and washed colors were caused by my PS5 HDR setting being turned to the ALWAYS ON option. Once I found the problem was on my end and not their end.

See unlike you I am a reasonable person. I can say things like, “I was wrong.” Or being a secure healthy person I can also give positive feedback and say things like, “That is a great idea. Thanks for the input.”

I dont want EVERYTHING exactly like the PC guy. In your little fantasy world of troll land, “one-thing” must be copying everything. Does that logic apply to everything? And wouldnt creating ONE version of the game with the same Ui and copy and paste it from PC to console be uhhh 100% faster than creating two versions of the game?

Incredibly thick headed…

Also thanks for the bump. Sheesh get a life. They asked for input on a beta. To report things and, this next part is crazy guy, GIVE FEEDBACK.

I recommend every pc player to play with a controller. I play on the PS5 and everything works fine without conflict. It might hurt your soul but this game is intended to play with a controller, it was not made for keyboard and mouse.

Hmmm… not sure what that has to do with that message but your point is a… point?

I don’t care about parity between PC, I’m more concerned over burn in on my OLED. This UI item should absolutely be able to be turned off.

But wont the HUD also cause a burn in then?

Burn in is more likely for high contrast static visuals such as the white text with black outline, brightly contrasting logos etc.

Regardless, the rest of the UI serves a gameplay purpose but this isn’t necessary once you are familiar with the UI controls so it’s just an unnecessary risk.

Thank you rebeldottie!

Pop-up messages absolutely need to be redone. I had some stupid quest related message Pop-up on my screen that took up like 80% of my screen and stayed there like a full solid two minutes forcing me to just sit there and ponder why the menu button nor any other would cancel it…ALL Pop-up messages need an auto cancel timer <1min…

I’d love to see an option or slider to resize the skill/health UI on console.

I’ve got a 58" ambilight on the living room wall, sit about 6’ away from it and feel that the UI is slightly larger than it needs to be.

Fair enough for folk who are positioned further back from their TV but giving folk the option to adjust their own HUD size can’t be a bad thing right?

Sounds like a great idea TruSlvrChamp!

I hope that these posts are being read and the suggestions in them considered.

Acknowledgement of the issue would go a long way.

I agree, I don’t need to see that message on the screen the entire time I play. Show it for 30 seconds when you login, maybe 5 seconds again after returning to town. But don’t need to see it while I’m out adventuring.

-btw, it wasn’t a fart

LOL!

This is a pointless and stupid comment. Because you prefer a controller doesn’t mean the game is, “not made for keyboard and mouse.”

I intend to play mostly with a controller, but I am definitely aware of certain advantages the keyboard and mouse bring. Anything where you can control distance (like teleport), for example.

I strongly agree that the consoles need more UI options: the ability to remove persistent text from the image ,( quest, world level an so on) even the map to dissapear after 2 sec and to appear with a swipe of the central button, not to mention the ability to remove or at least to make smaller the imense bar. And yes these days console players have bigger snd bigger screens, oled screens and besides the burn in issue we buy big tv to have immersion not to see half of a screen spells and life bar.
