There are way, way , way , way too many uniques dropping, and not enough legendaries dropping. Further way too few GA legendaries dropping. I don’t understand how the loot distribution got so bad. It was just an awful decision to only drop uniques on the uber bosses. Is anyone at blizzard actually playing this game? The loot distribution is just so obviously bad. I am just baffled at the regression this season.
Negative. Ladder bosses should drop only uniques. We can get legendary drops anywhere else in the world.
What they need to do is change the function of ladder bosses so that the endgame loop isn’t just fruitlessly farming thousands of 5-second kills.

In previous seasons, a non-GA unique item with a maxed-out aspect could complete a build. However, this season requires a GA unique to achieve a 12/12 masterwork and need RNG to roll a high aspect. 
This. Id go a step further. I’ve suggested this a couple times but I guess people don’t like it. This game has a lot of activities but they are all just long grind farm activities. No actual end game.
Bosses should be the end end game. They should have resilience and everyone, no matter how OP their build is should not be able to one shot them. People should have to do the mechanics. It should not be something that people have to farm 1000s of times. It should be something people on average farm only at the end of their builds and maybe a couple times a week each boss. The bosses should have a high chance of mythic item and if the mythic item dont drop then you are guaranteed a spark. Don’t even drop uniques. Move those to undercity. Make the tributes for them easy to find.

How are people getting enough boss mats for the amount of runs they say they are doing?
I don’t understand how anyone can have this opinion. Uniques drop all over the place. I have a stash full of duplicates, all with one or more GA. I have found 10 4 GA uniques, and maybe 1 3GA legendary. For every one legendary item with a GA I have 20 uniques with a GA. There are too many of them. I have multiple 60% GA banished lords, multiple 3% GA kepelkes. I can’t give them away because everyone has them.
RE getting boss mats:
#1: always use the new party finder to either find a group killing the boss you are after, or list your own party and 3 other people will join and contribute mats, given you 4X multiple on boss runs
#2: Do the new wayfinder activity to open the portal and get the opal that provides extra boss mats. When you run with that opal on you get lots of extra boss mats.
This is one of the best uses of spiritborn skill.
