If they fixed this, they fixed the whole season.
Though I haven’t crafted a mythic yet, I’m beginning to understand Why it would be Restrictive to the player base. I believe I should sign…….even though the people here is a small bucket compared to who knows what is out there.

I’m honestly not sure how I feel about it at this point.
At first I hated it as usually I’m terribly unlucky with drops and have to rely on getting my mythics from crafting.
But this season 2 of the 3 unique items I’m using in my build have dropped as mythics. And the first thing I crafted was a grandfather with a GA on crit chance. So I’m currently running with 3 mythics and one regular unique.
But just because I’ve been lucky doesn’t mean it’s a good change. If they could balance it out with a higher chance items drop as mythics I wouldn’t be apposed to keeping the crafting limit in place. But otherwise at the very least it should be limit one craft from each source, blacksmith, cube and jeweler.
No.
If they remove that restriction it will break the game.
The player is a creature which does not understand the longitudinal effects of his decision and desires today on anything in the game. He does not take on the role of the developer, or creator, the whatever, and instead seeks to alleviate his own frictions in the moment completely unaware that his frictions were placed upon him to stop him from his own harm.
The Diablo team is trying to reverse an error they made a while back where Mythics could be crafted and in this crafting system became functionally essential for every build. This was never supposed to happen. The best item in a slot was never, ever supposed to always be a Mythic in the sense that one actually built their build with the reasonable expectation that one would get it let alone get 6+ in a season for each of their characters.
I hope they succeed.
Or what exactly? ![]()
What are you afraid of? Players having fun getting good items? WE want the restriction removed because it makes 0 sense. What are they hoping to prevent? Preventing something that isnt a problem is a waste of resources. 30% bonus in all your slots isnt going to break anything and you will keep going to hunt for GAs and right stats.
It doesnt matter what the devs think. A majority of the base wants it so they should do it. Devs dont buy things in shop. Majority of the base should rule. Doesnt matter what they want. Them wanting it is enough because they are paying customer.
No.
I’m afraid of “the meta”.
I’m afraid of players having no fun, beating the game in 2 days, and complaining that it’s not hard enough while also touting the most effective gear as though it were merely something to be picked like a leaf off the branch.
My nightmare is already here.
Hahaha! This game is broken. Almost every season it’s the same few classes dominating. Who gives a damn if we can all possibly clear 150 pit? We should be able to go absolutely bonkers and have fun as we decide.
That’s hilarious when a season only lasts so long.
Utter nonsense and “he”… do you have something against males?
More dull thoughts with no citations.
How do you know? Do you work for Blizz? Do you have some kind of inside insight that we don’t?
Rogues have been doing 150s for 3 seasons. We are already there. Restriction is hurting the season. Its season of mythics and mythics are M.I.A. But the patch is out and they said no so now players are going to respond with a no thx to the season.
Yah I would like an answer to this as well.
They need to find a balance with this entire Mythic’s 3.0… This made everything too restrictive, and then you put random affixes with the Mythic’s now and it just feels like they went too far… Which they usually do. I know they are trying to extend the playtime of people in the season, so if you make everything almost impossible to get, and then the drops of mythic’s are mostly garbage, the grind continues. I find this avenue to be particularly unfun to play. When you play a game, the idea is for it to be fun, which this season is not.
I doubt the patch will fix things for many players, and it may be too late to bring many people back that have just walked away from the season.
Just my $0.02
Yeah.
They have to plant the seed of change at some point. If not now then in 5 seasons and the reaction will be the same. The medicine sucks but it is far better than the disease especially when the people who have the disease don’t know they’re sick.
If everyone would run around with full crafted mythics sets it would break the game. That’s why the restriction is there. A child understand that.
For the balance of the game, no.
Big arguments here. My opinion? Either remove the crafted and keep drop odds low, or be transparent about the drop rates and make them a reasonable 5% per unique item dropped from superior bosses.
Edit: Also, Iconics should never count as crafted. They rarely work synergistic with each other but most builds use one, or at most 2.
Trying to rewire the brains of your consumers is the wrong path. Why do this? The players want what they want. Just embrace it and design for it. Majority of the base should rule. Its business 101. This is a game not making the declaration of independence 2.0.
I will make a prediction and say they will remove the limit and announce on july 12 when they come up to speed on all the new backlash to their decision. IF they dont season is immediately over as nobody will care including me.
That’s not really how reality works. If we let the majority rule, our world would be a mess. There’s needs to be a balance, and there needs to be more transparency. I’m sick of them using “sometimes” or “frequently” or “occasionally” in game text or patch notes instead of a clear and concise number. You both have points. But pretending the majority is always right is idiotic.
Make them too accessible, people will run out of things to do too fast. Make them too rare, people get bored. Both sides have a point.
The players clearly don’t know what they want which is how we got here to begin with. The same players who have been given everything they’ve asked for under the sun complain about the game constantly being too easy, too quick, too simple and too small. The same people who keep making the requests to make the game easier, quicker and simpler complain when it is done at their behest.
Business 201 tells you that for the vast majority of customers they themselves are self-defeating. There are so many product features you take for granted today in so many ways that were fought tooth and nail by people you don’t even know who didn’t know absolutely wonderful those products would end up being. It’s not as if anyone realizes that even the deviation between D1 and D2 was met with skepticism and attrition yet today we act as though D2 is the best and D1 just a predecessor of it’s time. Crazy that.
If the road was straight to success I don’t think we’d ever have any of these conversations. To think, automatically picking up gold was an innovation… Can you imagine a game today if you had to do that manually? Hell, we’re mad we still have to pick up anything manually.
I hope you’re wrong but would bet you’re right if I was betting on it.
It’s day 10. Have none of you been paying mind? The season is already over for a lot of players. You act as if they have anything on the line. They do not. The elites have burned their wicks and who is complaining? The elites. There’s not a single reason for them to accede to a dead threat.

this customer does know what they want and while this isn’t exactly it, it would be far closer than the current state.
IMO, mythics crafted in the cube are the only ones that should have the crafted tag. Blacksmith and jeweler mythics should not. It would be nice if we could equip 2 or 3.
“Iconic” mythic drop rate needs a serious buff. I am 260 paragon and haven’t had a single one drop.
