This should be an option and not forced on everyone.
Playing Torment 1 with 250 paragon points does not let you see what you need to fix on your alt until you get to a problem in T3 or T4.

Then do not put any points on until you feel like you should. Wait to allocate points. Its that simple.
I asked for that last season. Character progression is what makes the game enjoyable for me and when I reach lvl 60 with an alt and already have 250 Paragon point available there is no more progression. I already have generic spare gear that speed up the process, don’t need all the Paragon.
Making it optional won’t affect those who want to get to the endgame as fast as possible.
Manually allocating the points is not an option. Paragon is linked to XP progression. Randomly allocating a point when I feel I need do doesn’t make sense.
Is it though? Asking genuinely.
I ask because I always feel like my lower level alts earn paragon points much quicker than my highest level character (in the same amount of time).
In fact in the other thread where someone is asking why paragon has been slowed I was about to say “make an alt or two”
My barb in torment 1 seems to get paragon points 3 or 4 durring the same length session where my Rogue in torment 3 gets 1. At least it feels like this, I never actually measured it.
I do this now…but it is not always this linear when you are trying things yourself…vs just copying some build. It would be much easier to just earn the points seperately as if for the first time.
You can check your Paragon progress bar and it is based on XP. Obviously, there are activities that give a lot more XP than others, the Pit for example.
Maybe you have just currently been doing more XP rewarding activities with your Barb than with your Rogue.
I believe I have a XP/Paragon table (not sure it is up to date for S9) but it would be a chore to keep checking my XP and allocating the points based on the values from the table. I am sure I would start cheating when I feel my character is a bit weak and cannot do an activity.
No I agree doing it yourself is not ideal at all.
Very likely this. Barb is doing more things as it needs gear still. Rogue is pretty set on gear not counting GA Uniques, so just pushing pit.
I’m not against this but I feel that the devs would somehow screw up even something simple like this and introduce a glitch where now you can unlock every single node lol
Wait… that sounds actually fun…
I am all for this!!
Get on it devs!
Totally agreed
Also the other end of that same equation:
Make Glyphs shareable instead (or optionally shared)
This is a negative they want you to play more.
There’s already an option there, called self control, you can just not assign your points lol…
This can also hardcore backfire (as it already has)
Why setup a option if everyone uses it???
P200 is generally a jump straight into T2 for me. From there it’s getting enough armor and resistance to cross into T3 and I can do the math easily myself. T4 for me is a repeat of the same process. Try to hit 1250 armor and 25% over the T3 resist cap.
So long as you hit those caps and get at least 7K HP your build will be fine. 7K is on the low end but with access to bulwark through runes it’s easy to get near 100% uptime without slotting any legendary runes.
I agree!
Why?
Because I love games that give players more ways to, oh I dunno, Play their own way, perhaps.
Just because I may not enjoy using said option doesn’t mean other players wouldn’t.
For me the journey is an empty shell of tedium that offers no real enjoyment.
I would like an option that allows me to skip the exp journey and make a fully fledged level 60 that has completed all the quests my maxed characters have completed.
Obviously using said option would remove the ability of said character to ever be listed on the leader boards.
Seasonal factional quests would need to be “Excluded” of course. I do recognize the risk of exploitation there.
I would still have to hunt for gear at 60 which is where the real enjoyment begins for me.
Making it optional won’t affect those who want to get to enjoy the journey as slow as possible.
So yes I believe in options and support the OP’s request.
You can’t disable the warning and the pointedly annoying sound effect.
This is a problem with eternal characters as well +1.
