Please make it playable in offline!

Hi there!

this Diablo IV is almost the best,
But I always having disconnected issue!
I don’t know why,

my internet speed is about 10-20 Mbps
quite fast, But why I lagging so offten?
and sometime when I entering some scene,
it start lagging and then I was disconnected!
why?

if the server can’t handdle a lots of players
why don’t make it playable in offline?

because I don’t playing with anyone, I just play alone
why I have to use the server?

or you trying to protecting cheating right?
you still can use the server, a little bit…
Not always connect like this.

I hope you can see this
I’m a game developer too, I understand your point!

Well I will bite, even though the answer to this in general is obvious.

First off, the game doesn’t need speed as much as a reliable connection.

Diablo IV is very sensitive to disruption, and things like using WiFi connections, connected to an internet with other users and devices also on the network, etc can cause types of interference that may disrupt the Diablo IV traffic.

I play a lot from a Starlink connection, but I also use a 10MB DSL connection if I have issues with stability.

Don’t get me wrong, the Starlink works great here, but there are times when even it can cause disruption to my games.

So I have a DSL 10MB modem as a backup. When I use it, my gaming computer is the only thing connected to it.

The game plays very nicely, even though its a slow internet connection by today’s standards.

Now.

In your case, you may want to run some tests on your connection… You can post the results in this thread you created, but use this thread linked below for instructions on how to test your connection.

See if we can find out what the problem actually is.

As to an offline mode, that’s not going to happen. Many modern games require internet to function, and its not as simple as it would seem to make an offline mode. Even Diablo 3 doesn’t have an offline mode, unless you are on the older versions on a console or its been modded on a console.

Thanks,

Troubleshooting can be found here:

-For everyone having connection issues of various types: UPDATE 6-9-24

The truth is offline playability would bring in a massive amount of hacking/cheating that cannot be controlled as the data is now client side.

Anyone that remembers the old Diablo remembers cheats where you could duplicate another player’s items when playing with them online.

I can’t even imagine the problems that could happen today.

that says it all about your technical knowledge… but blizzard is not responsible for your unstable internet connection,
