Please make druid shapeshifts permanent

If druids current shifting mechanics are persistent up to endgame, it’s disappointing. I want to be a werebeast, I don’t feel immersed in the idea I’m a werebeast, if I’m constantly being booted out of form because the only way to stay in it, is to constantly spam shift abilities to extend its duration. It frankly makes for irritating gameplay. Being a werebeast looks cool and looking cool is fun. The current design takes away from the fun and makes shifting feel more like a spell than an actual form as it is in D2. Changing a fundamental aspect of what made shift druids fun in D2 is lame.

Even if it provides no gameplay benefit, please make werebeast forms permanent until an ability that can’t be used in that form is activated. It would kinda be like putting WoW’s feral druid cat form on a CD instead of it being a permanent aura, it would be a massive buzzkill that takes from its identity.

definetly a yes this needs to happen it doesnt make sense that he pops out of form.
specialy not when there are skills that increase your movment speed and your force to stop shifclick+basic attack so you just can maintain your speed its annoying as hell
dont know who thought ripping us out of form is a good idea.

Permanent, permanent or just while in combat? Ty for replying btw.

Was going to make a similar post, and found this one.

This is a comparison to the D2 and WoW druids. The shapeshifting feels like a cosmetic feature and not a true class gameplay. The fact that you can learn any kind of skill (human/wolf/bear) at any time and have any kind of skill on your bar completely removes the shapeshifting fantasy/gameplay mindset. May as well call the very first tier skills “Melee attack 1, which also changes character graphics to wolf” and “Melee attack 2, which also changes character graphics to bear”, and similar for all other wolf/bear skills.

Being shapeshifted doesn’t seem to provide any unique bonuses, making me ask “why would I want to stay in the wolf/bear form?” I did see some passive bonuses that are provided only to a specific shareshift form, like a legendary helm with “damage reduced by X% while in wolf”, but it’s more along the lines of “oh, i get that bonus, okay cool” instead of “wolf always get some unique bonus - awesome, i like it, i’ll keep playing in wolf form”.

Recommending to review how druid works in D2 and WoW and bring it closer to that druid. I understand you (Blizzard) are probably trying something new, and it’s great you’re doing that, however the current D4 druid feels like a complete downgrade compared to D2 and WoW in terms of shareshifting fantasy and gameplay. aaa

My opinion is that it would be great to just stay in a form relating to the last used ability until you use another one. When you come to the city you just change back to original form as you put away your weapons for poor villagers to not scare them away.

Ironically, I would really want to have the option to toggle off/disable any transformation and be in human permanently for during all the abilities. Similar to Udyr from league of legends, and just have the “spirit” or “aspect” of that type of abilities’ theme be indicated with nothing or a small buff icon or transparent animal creature. This will help make my cosmetics feel more worth it. When everyone transforms to the same generic bear or werewolf it loses any feeling of identity.

Lets all be real with ourselves here, only reason people want perma furry forms, is to yiff in Kyovoshad inn

seek help lol

Druid “action” shifts is one of the coolest ways blizzard has ever done shape shifting
