Please look into the current matchmaking systeem of Diablo 4

Firstly, I’d like to offer my congratulations on your takeover of Blizzard and Activision. With you at the helm, I have faith that the company is in good hands, and the games will undoubtedly see improvements. As an avid and frustrated gamer with a long history of passion for Blizzard’s games, I felt it was time to reach out and share my thoughts in the hope that they reach you.

Let’s dive into the heart of the matter. I want to underscore the significance of introducing a party queue feature in Diablo 4. This addition could genuinely breathe new life into the game, much like World of Warcraft’s ability to facilitate easy grouping for in-game adventures. Diablo 2, in its earlier iteration, had a distinct yet highly effective matchmaking system that captured the essence of enjoyable gameplay.

Have you had the pleasure of experiencing the seamless matchmaking in games like Borderlands or Fallout 76, where joining a party even rewards you with bonus experience points? The current state of the game is lacking in robust and enjoyable multiplayer functionality, and this issue is relatively straightforward to address.

Rather than allocating precious resources to the repair of dungeons or the refinement of gameplay mechanics, I suggest exploring the SOS signal feature from Monster Hunter World and taking inspiration from the engaging mechanics of games like Borderlands and your own creation, Overwatch, to extract invaluable insights into the development of fulfilling party systems.

I envision a future for Diablo 4 where players can effortlessly initiate a queue for casual parties, complete with enticing bonuses, perhaps akin to the XP rewards offered in Fallout 76 for joining such groups. This system would enable players to seamlessly join a game and embark on quests and objectives together, eliminating the need for extensive communication. I yearn for the experience of encountering varying difficulty levels in different areas, as well as the thrill of battling for loot and XP, reminiscent of the golden days of Diablo 2.

The current in-game experience falls short when confronting demons or other players. The user interface lacks vibrancy, and items fail to distinguish themselves. Scanning a chest teeming with loot is a wearisome task, as each item feels indistinct, despite their inherent differences. I implore you to take a page from Monster Hunter World’s playbook in addressing this issue and infusing some much-needed color and life into the UI and item design.

It’s high time to elevate the fun and rewarding multiplayer experience in Diablo 4. Please do reach out if you’re considering addressing this issue or if you need further ideas. I am genuinely eager to contribute to the improvement of this beloved game.

Okay… Yes i did… the essence of what i am trying to tell is there… but do you agree with me? It currently lacks fun ellements ingame you can do together. Even with randoms if you manage to find one to join your party… Playing it on your own sucks the joy out of me

They could literally just draw a lottery of forum posters to take over and the game would improve.

I understand what you were trying to say, and I was just joking around :grinning:

I know there a number of other people on the forums who share your line of thinking and are hoping for a group finder. I am not one of those people. I play solo, don’t enjoy reading chat because I find it annoying, and this game is so easy that I have no need to group up with others.

Having said that, I hope those who do want a decent chat and/or group finder get one! It’s not a singleplayer game, after all. It makes no sense to me that those who enjoy group gameplay are so limited in being able to group up and communication is so lacking.

Exactly… Love that you are pointing out the annoying part of joining a party. The energy you have to put into the chat… It doesn’t have to be like that though. A single-player experience can be enjoyed while being in a party. The question that should be answered is how can you combine a solo runner with someone who enjoys playing in groups? I truly believe that the answer could fix the matchmaking issue.

Do people really believe microsoft will read and see their post?

You’d have better luck sending an actual mail to their adress

No, of course not… using the title as clickbait. It got you to read it. If we like each other’s posts and leave more posts, then maybe we have a chance that at least the Blizzard Dev team will read it.

Diablo actually is primarily designed to be a solo experience with multiplayer being optional. That being said, it is strange how D4 lacks basically all of the tools players had access to in D2 and D3 for forming groups, especially with strangers. I guess the intent is that you hang out in a town and group up with other players there before heading out to do something?

Yes, Quaccy, you make a great point there… This design on how the matchmaking works is currently damaging the game. They tried making a multiplayer game for players who prefer a solo experience… and left out all of the great stuff that made D2 and D3 special. To be honest, the matchmaking system in D3 wasn’t great either… I did enjoy the classes, abilities and visuals more compared to what we have to deal with now.
