I play DIV very casually. I really like the lore and the campaign so far. I play maybe a few hours a week because I am busy and also enjoying other games at the same time.
I was also enjoying checking every part of the map for Lilith statues and balancing selling gear for gold and salvaging gear for crafting.
Now I can’t enjoy playing at all because of the Welcome Back Booster quest constantly pinning itself and pulsing on my screen. I have not completed it yet because it would ruin many aspects of the game that I enjoy.
Please let us fail the quest, or give it up, or drop it, or something.
I am thinking of completing it then just deleting all my characters but then I would also loose the Lilith statues hunts because that is account based.

Create an alt. Immediately burn the quest. Delete the character.

You would think this but I still see this quest come up on some alt toons even though I’ve used it twice already on other toons just to get the items and sell/break down.

Creating an alt will still complete lilith statues for all characters.
Just have to work around it if you really want to do the launch day chores.
Easy fix if you’re character is already level 60:
- Remove all your gear and place in stash.
- Accept the quest in and pick the build closest to yours.
- Spend a few minutes reseting skill tree to your build as you’ll still be level 60. Paragon boards don’t change.
- Sell all the gear they gave you.
- Reequip your gear from your stash.
- Enjoy free gold and obols.
Done this multiple times. Sometimes on the same character because quest keeps reappearing.

Is finding the Lilith statues a chore for most people? Like was there a lot of people complaining about finding them? I thought it was a nice little side mission to encourage me to open up all the map.

People used to complain about them because opening them was character specific. No one wanted to go find ever statue every single season. It was changed to account bound to avoid this. I think hardcore is still considered separate, so you have to redo them there.

It’s fine the first time… room for improvement. It struck me that they probably intended most/all(?) of them to have cultist mobs near them (ie worshipping Lilith), but they failed in execution (a lot of the existing mobs were bugging out whenever I spotted them). If true, then fixing them might even make the statues “re-playable”… but they’d also have to trim them down & make sure all of them granted something worthwhile. That’s a lot of work they’re not willing to do, on a ‘legacy’ system.
What people resented was not only having to re-do them on alts, but having to re-do them on season reset. Screw that.
The statues themselves have enough problems (see above) on their own, without putting them on repeat.
Another problem is tying them to renown. Renown needs to feel meaningful & not tedious… and unfortunately it forced players to do a mix of activities that were clearly not tested for fun, in the required proportion. For example, having to clear several same-y dungeons, or having to do side quests that felt like a waste of time after the first time. The least boring activity was riding around on the horse, hitting waypoints, b/c at least horse riding feels efficient (whenever they’re not breaking it) & waypoints are needed long term. They eventually noticed even that is tedious as hell, if you don’t give us access to at least a few waypoints in subsequent seasons… the overworld just isn’t interesting enough.
Think “overworld → renown → statues/quests/(normal) dungeons/ waypoints”. They didn’t test the overall thing nearly enough for re-playability - not even close. Hence the changes.
Hence the current “fix” that caused you problems. Because they didn’t test that enough either. More than likely b/c Rod told them to move on to something else.
Added: strongholds had some replayability, not much… but there’s not much they could do without revamping those.

Thanks for the insights.
So how can I contact this Rod guy and tell him make the quest dismissible?
You used to have to find them for each character and every Season. They did away with that in S2 I think. So yeah, it was an annoying chore.
By S3, I think the Reputation grind was gone as well. If you completed it once, the rewards carry over.
You can contact him via a carrier pidgeon…
