Asked times and times again it seems: why no ladder? It was in Diablo 3… And please not an experience ladder or a Gauntlet à la PoE, they are garbage systems. Greater Rifts pushing in Diablo 3 was fine, just do the same with Pits in Diablo 4; it’s mind boggling they stop before the very final step when all the foundation is here…
It’s coming with the expansion, we do not know what content it will be tied to though, they haven’t elaborated on much when it comes to the expansion mind you.
For the most part maybe, but on occasion I’d like to compare my progress to my friends and clanmates primarily.
So I tweak my builds or have a baseline to know why I might be performing well or badly.
I.e.
We tease a friend that they have family in blizzard they don’t [ they have insane luck when it comes to drops ], which is why they always seem to be progressing much faster then anyone else XD
There are ladders in D4. They’re in the overworld, usually in a mine. Wish there were more so you could slide down a ladder instead of slowly climbing down a cliff face
If I wanted to see the concept of a leaderboard to climb here, I would come up with some creative end game system and have it for that, would be too typical to have it for pits and boring hamster wheeling.
Until RMT and duping are brought under control this would only be a list of CC warriors with the highest credit limit. It would be absolutely senseless to do this with the current state of the game.
D3 still has this issue to a point. The player that is P3000 a week into game didn’t get there on his own but it is nowhere near the clown show it would be with D4.
It is a hard NO from me until something is done about the RMT/duping disaster.
There is no use for a ladder system in this game! Why waste time and resources on something that won’t help at all when they could use that time and money and effort on things that would benefit the game like an in game AH or fixing class balancing or giving us end game or harder difficulty.
The problem is with the current state of the game it would be who spent the most money not how great they are. Swiping a credit card isn’t skillful game play.
