Please fix OCULUS!

ATM im pretty sure that the only people using OCULUS wand, are just testing it to see how dumb it is, and setting it aside without any plan to ever use it.

Please remove the random teleport from it, so it actually gets used.

The reason for a movement skill / teleport skill is to move ur mouse to where u want to go, so that u benefit from that actual concept of what it stands for.
Randomly teleporting to anywhere on the screen is 1stly very very annoying, in most of cases you get send into oposite directions of the one your moving at the time.

Without that random location tele, the item would actually feel pretty good.

The people using oculus are the two people still playing sorc in S1.

Just use the skill bar teleport? It gives you a massive to that. The random teleport is just for when you are in a group of mobs you want to continually proc Raiment on.

Be careful it might teleport you right into Baldurs Gate 3.

I’ve never required teleport anyway but yeah i would hate random teleport.

That’s a neat trick. Would love to see that in practice.

I used it for awhile, it was pretty fun in combat.

However, out of combat, I use dash to move faster through empty hallways. Not possible with Oculus, and its a habit I’m unwilling to break for a single unique.

It is the same concept like Diablo 2. Not everyone used it… and who used it was ready for the random deaths.
The only diference is… the stats are dogshüt. Atleast from my point.

The Oculus
[Swirling Crystal]
One-Hand Damage : 18 To 42
Required Level : 42
Durability : 50
[Staff]Class - Normal Attack Speed
([Sorceress] Only)
+3 To Sorceress Skill Levels
+5 To [Mana] After Each Kill
All [Resistances] +20
25% Chance To Cast Level 1 [Teleport] When Struck
+30% Faster [Cast Rate]
+20 To [Vitality]
+20 To [Energy]
+20% Enhanced [Defense]
50% Better Chance Of Getting [Magic Items]

Where is the random teleport ?

You cannot compare a teleport that happens when you are struck, to a random teleport that happens when you press a button…it’s completly the opposite.

D2 one saves you from mobs, the D4 one has a very high chance to take you into them, or into after effects or into traps or wherever it is, it will not be where you expected which breaks everything about it.

And tbh, even when struck was annoying, but not as bad as in d4. the only way d4 oculus will be an actual decent item, is if the random teleport is deleted, and everything else is left the same.

As you stated in the beginning I was using Oculus to experiment with it and see what sort of wonky stuff I could do.

But now it is a permanent part of my arc lash sorc build, as strange as that may sound, because it ends up working much like the old Flicker Strike Build from PoE absolutely decimating packs of mobs even packs of elites.

It certainly isn’t something you would want to try Lilith with, however back into the 80-90 NM dungeon range it can decimate certain dungeons with the right amount of mob density which is what I am running it for anyway.

So yeah certainly gimmicky but there is fun to be had with it, on the right set up (which I am still nowhere near completing (thanks to trashy enchanting rates and itemization).

So my vote would be don’t change the random teleport it as that provides a fun and exciting time for those actually willing to build for it.
Instead simply make a new unique and introduce it into the game as well.

It just needs to have targeted NON-random teleport. ez.

It works like any other item made for sorc, you give it to the vendor and they give you gold.
