Make them so they are only usable on party members. TOO many times just today have I come out of a pit to have someone ruin my buffs with something not usable by my class! They should NOT effect every player in the radius only those in the party!

How does it ruin your buffs? I have never noticed someone else’s buff overriding one of mine. I just see their buff as an extra one next to mine.

If I am running str and they use intel I lose my str and get intel which is not optimal that’s how you lose them the last one applied overrides the current ones!

thats not how it works. they can indeed overwrite your buffs.
These “extra buffs” you are seeing are just other incenses. We got 3 categories of incenses and you can use one of each.
as for OPs suggestion. I dont know, i like to grab free incenses at times ^^

Yeah, it’s kind of dumb to have them override if there’s more than let’s say, 5 minutes left. If Blizzard wanted, they could come up with some way for players to give incenses to other players in the area without overriding the current ones, unless it’s the exact same.
When you’re pit pushing, or if your character requires the armor one to reach the Torment cap, having it replaced with life (for example) could mean you’ll receive more damage and maybe die.

I only recently realized how cost effective incense really is. Every little bit helps.
That said one player’s buff should never overwrite another’s. If that happened in, say, wow, I think it would be decried as a form of griefing!
Right I’m now forced to sit by the obelisk with buffs that no one uses and spam them the second I see people use theirs just to get people to stop buff in town

Just use your own when you zone back into the Pit.
Annoying? Yes. But far less annoying than playing buff wars with people not in your party zoning in and out of Pit.
Check your buffs when you enter Pit. Use your incenses appropriately if your buffs aren’t what you desire.
I do agree that Incense should only be party wide - even if your party is one.

It’s all about getting enough people to cry about it until it gets fixed! I’m just doing my part to help!
OMG! This happened to me so many times and I wanted to make a topic about it but was lazy. It really screws up your incenses just before u jump into the pit. I also thought before that theirs is just extra next to ours. Some of them are but say the guys uses +to all stats and you use strength. You can not use both since they both increase strength, so it takes whatever the other players just opened.

Thats a hard no for me. I like getting free buffs sitting outside the pit.

Call me Scrooge if you want but I never craft/use incense, because (that’s the point) there are people like these! I just stand near the pit obelisk, waiting, there will always be kind people incensing all around them. And since I’m polite, I always say thank you to them

Craziness is deathly, some people shouldn’t play game with extreme jealousy toward others .

Especially in Cerragor, every time I see or Hear somebody use an incense, I dive head first into the aura like I’m diving in a pool. 
*and like somebody already said, I always say “Thank you” when I happen to get a free buff.
I don’t normally run pit anyway, so I’ll take what I can get.

Yeah they really need to do something about it. Either make them not usable in town just like skills or make them Personal/Party use only not ANYONE in the area!
Getting enough people to cry wont help. Just see Mendeln bug. Not fixed for 1 month and 1 thread pops up everyday
At least we can say we tried to help instead of sitting back and doing nothing about it. Bring attention to it and hopefully it gets fixed faster then if they didn’t know about it.

I run around town to buff them
One way to go around is, not to use any potion of yours until you go through portal into pit. This way u keep yours plus additional potions from others before the portal and they can not override yours.
