Please don’t with the Druid…

My husband and I were so looking forwards to playing duel druids and we have lost all interest.

There’s no reason the Druid should be larger (chubbier) than even the barbarian. They lived off the land, they had to farm / hunt. They need stamina and speed. They weren’t raiding warriors who feasted off the spoils of war. The Druid here looks more like a barbarian chieftain who’s been feasting every day instead of someone focused on balance with the land.

We don’t want to be walking fridges :sob:

The fridge part had me laughing .

Albeit i can’t say i really personally mind the Druids appearance. I can imagine this fitting his ability to change into a bear.

I can see where you’re coming from and it would make sense given his size. For me, even though it may seem less practical, I like the contrast of going from smaller to suddenly significantly larger.

This version, with how big he is in general, I just imagine his transformation resulting in sticking a couple of handfuls of fur into his massive body and saying “I’m a bear now” XD

I’m more annoyed that werebear and werewolf are just a few second bursts. Thats what turned me off to this version of it. I loved my d2 werewolf build…

Only a few seconds? F that then. Druid sounds boring. I want to walk around for long periods of time as a werewolf.

ie. Provide better character customisations.

When I found out they don’t let you choose body type and only have 4 faces+11 hairstyles, some hairstyles which are locked to certain classes, it was a huge turn off.

I didn’t want to be some barrel chested fat druid, but here we are.

Better than the gender fluid Sorcs. I mean how you supposed to tell who is maie and female with a sorc?

Yeah read it’s tied to the type of attack. so like any other spell. its there, then gone. no staying in form. I really hope its not the case. Either way will be testing it after necromancer this upcoming weekend. Got gear to get characters to 25 easily pretty much, from farming early beta. which apparently carries to open beta, then wiped.

they’ve already said there will be aspects, enchants, etc. that will increase the time you stay in those forms.

For the love of everything holy, stop making so many presumptions off a weekend beta lol

I’m sorry you dislike him, but i REALLY like his character model. And, for me, it makes sense for a druid. They do live off the land, which means farming and hunting. It also means cutting down your own trees, building your own structures, etc.

I completely agree with the OP, the Druid design in D4 does not seem in line with the type of character he’s supposed to be (I’ve not seen any female designs yet).

At the VERY least, it would be nice to simply have a “thinner”, leaner option to choose from. It’s bizarre they would be so much larger than Barbarians, but clearly it’s not “all muscle” as some people keep trying to claim.

I loved the D2 Druid, and I’d love for my D4 Druid to have the same athletic sort of build.

Man, maybe you should learn to read little one.
This is info thats been out for a while.

It’s a hell of a lot more choice than the three previous games.

Seriously, no one is ever happy with anything.

I have a new saying, a Diablo player isn’t happy unless they are complaining.

I mean, if you turned into a bear or a werewolf, gorged yourself on flesh regularly, then turned back into a human, where did all that feasting go… in the fridge?

Hah - I’m kidding, the walking fridge had me LOL, I couldn’t help it.

Seriously, I get it. They should have some body slider adjustments for shoulders, arms, chest, waste, butt, legs… its common in games to have these sliders so folks can live out their thick, think, fat, endowed… ‘dump truck’, whatever fantasies. Its fun walking into town freak shows for amazonian women, norse giants, p0rn-star barbies and midget/hobbit/dwarfs… fridges alike. Its a fantasy game… game on!

It mostly just seems odd to me to have an entire class whose body-type is very purposely designed to be unattractive, they’re very clearly obese and that seems like a poor choice. Particularly as I’ve been excited to see the Druid return, but it kills the excitement when the character is an overweight mess.

you basically have to constantly spam skills (which you are doing anyway when you are in combat) and only equip werewolf skills to be able to be in that form all the time. and obviously out of combat you can’t.

It’s almost like they’re bear-like for some reason…

This is literally the same reason why I won’t go Druid in D4. The earthen, druid, elven, and or forest dwelling character and skills have always been my first choice in any game. Why so chonk? This is my only “nit-picky” thing to say about the game so far haha. Super excited to play d4, just sad I will not be playing the druid.

Hmm… I kinda like the look? This druid, art wise, seems more feral. Less traditional EQ or D&D and more raw… rough around the edges. A bruiser. David Harbour. Pounding a 24 pack of… ales… every night!

I get it though. I didn’t like the art direction for the necromancer (emomancer?) either when the class was introduced.
