Please devs be courageous

I am reading some kind of comments, about the changes you are performing for S4, and i have to say that some of them are unproductives. People talking about the counters of the tempering, before even have given it a try! It is awesome how far the ignorance goes. My advice people? Let the devs work, let the game improve. And, if you have something to say, say it after have tested.

right? noone got to test anything yet, and yet so many people know how to change stuff lol.

my favorite threads start with “how to fix… XYZ”

Agree OP, let’s just wait for the PTR

Agreed! Things need to be drastically changed from the current state which is going to make people nervous, but keep those changes coming!

id also encourage them to not do a 180 after the 7 week ptr instantly. There WILL be people who dont like certain changes. Thats not neccessarily a bad thing.

If adjustments need to be made, start small.

Prime example, Season 3. People cried about wardings and vaults, blizzard changed it into week one so that noone even had to care at all about traps at all.

its roughly 2 months til s4, that leaves a lot of room for discussions once the ptr hits.

You are right, that is why I am rather optimstic and keep my mouth shut till I see results.

Looks pretty good so far, but judge it after we see.

I can’t.
I can’t read this and stay quiet.
I need to open my mouth…
That being said:

LoL, op. Game is getting in the 1 year house.
We are munching on small changes since day one.
Some of the changes even backfire.

And you don’t want people to be worried or want the things to be done right to avoid rework?

Let people talk. They have the right.

For most of the systems discussed I agree with you. I will say for tempering some people hate the idea of being able to “brick” an item and that doesn’t need to be tested if you’re someone who hates that concept.

Personally, I am fine with that RNG element but if someone isn’t… they don’t need to test it first as other ARPGs have the ability to brick items as well.

Agreed. These updates are HUGE. Its a new game. We will be playing a new game April 2nd. I am hype!

Only negative of the updates is that my desire to continue playing s3 went from low to zero, lol

hah, well, i think my desire has been lower since a few weeks now, since im done with the season anyway. all i do is do my weekly gauntlets right now, just for the bragging rights ^^

I think there may be ways to improve this. Sacrifice a unique item to get one more in tempering durability. If a really valuable item is worth improving if it doesn’t just use the tempering. From what I’ve seen it has 4 and 5 durability So we don’t know if 5 is the maximum, it’s not clear.

Preaching to the choir on this one. People will always voice their opinions before something is released. The backlash for S3 started when they announced constructs. OMG we’re getting pets? D4 bad, Blizzard fail. Traps? What is this PoE, and you took the worst parts from that game? D4 bad, Blizzard fail. Same with AoZ, and the Gauntlet.

While I agree with your post, this won’t stop people from complaining or making posts about content they’ve never tried before. Many before you have tried to give this same advice, and many after you will give the same advice, but who knows you might reach 1 person out of the several dozens. Good luck. :+1:

What do you mean OP?? I know more about game design than anyone, after all I created this forum account all by myself. :hamster:

The problem is not the people talking about whatever they want, it is the people listening because they have no ideas of their own. Yes the devs who backtrack because it sounds like money being lost.

I would take that advice as a guarantor procedure of success

So basically, all you need blizz to do is cater to dipsheits like you, yeah? OFC!!!

Not all systems need a first playthrough in order to offer an opinion. I agree in general that people should play first and then be negative or whatever after.

However just a quick example, the resplendent fiasco. Everyone said 5 is too much and it’s just absurd but they did it anyway. Only to reduce it to 4 a few days later and I am willing to bet it will be eventually reduced to 3, which was what most people suggested.

So, yeah, there is a point to complaining or saying something is bad even before trying it.

low effort trolls really… its kinda boring.

feel free to check my post history for “everything is fine!” =)

players seldom know what it takes to make a game

hence, they hurriedly bring to the fore their prejudice

i say, be more like me
