This is basically “Monster Hunter” boss raids in an ARPG; peak endgame content.
The defining features of this boss are
A) that you have to hunt them down and kill them within a time limit, and
B) there are only 3 respawn tokens, but SHARED among your 4-member party.
C) Bosses have no healthbars- for immersion and suspense, fighting against a timer that keeps you invested til the end.
These are by far (along with Legion Raid bosses) the most fun I’ve ever had in all of gaming, seeing random people come together to contend with deep and complex mechanics. In a group of 4 friends, it’s even more fun.
Having no personal respawn means you can consume the respawn tokens if you’re the tank, or making too many mistakes, then watch at least 1 player solo the boss and carry you all. This is like old school Counter Strike days of thrilling, beating a hard challenge with an audience that is cheering for you.
If Blizzard can add this, and arena (normalized) PvP to D4, this will maximize replayability for years and be my favourite game of all time.
D4 being the MMOARPG hybrid in the vein of Lost Ark, it NEEDS hard bosses with deep, complex mechanics.

More content is cool, but I’d rather not have dailies to do in this game. If they want to make a Diablo MMO that is going to be a separate project. This is more of a dungeon crawler with the option to be in parties, not a raid-driven MMO.
I honestly prefer to keep forced party raiding out of Diablo. There’s always toxic people to deal with in those games and a lot of pressure to keep up with the current acceptable power level to even get into groups. I don’t want that in a regular Diablo title and thankfully it won’t be a problem in D4.
I have a 1570, 3 1550s and 2 1540s at the time of this post in Lost Ark. Guardian Raids are a chore in that game after the first few days of a new guardian release. If I do my Caliligos raids on all 6 of my main roster I’ll run into at least one toxic Terry because i’m forced into partying to complete the content efficiently. It’s kind of a drag after a while.

No, not as a daily.
Just as a feature in the D4 overworld, there can be “dungeons” that are wide open spaces where you do the monster hunt. The world bosses and local events are already straight out of Lost Ark.
Saying it’s not, or shouldn’t be a raid-driven MMO is a poor argument, in case you havent considered where we are at currently in the offering. Fine, just give me a Butcher hunt, or Blood Bishop hunt or any Diablo boss, add those features in the OP and limited spawns, boom, Im sold.
Guardian Raids are a damn CHORE in Lost Ark because you need to grind mats for honing and looting becomes pointless and unfun because you are given a set at start of each tier to work towards. NONE of that is what I am suggesting or what D4 has.
Also, you can do Guardian Raids 100% solo. Do not try to force your view of GRs of LOA into D4. Think how it can work before what you don’t like from another game

GR’s can be done 100% solo if all you want to do that day is GR’s. I can see how it could be different in D4 though. It’s just hard to divorce how Lost Ark works from your idea of taking the content from Lost Ark.
Easy to add the concept to D4. Lot of people were scoffing at me that I said Lost Ark is the most similar game to D4 2 years ago, look at us now.
If you do GR solo the boss is a bit easier, which make it very challenging if you go in as 4-party and everyone dies in 3 minutes and you’re left soloing a harder boss, but it can be done and those make for memorable, heroic moments.
I remember being carried by a Deathblade called Cheetopuffs in the Tytalos GR. He was so cool.
Anyways, bottom line is, PvP and complex bosses are the only replayable content to me. I need a challenge and unpredictable content. Quests and same old dungeons will not cut it, but add 10 of those guardians and arena PvP, boom, sold.
As long as I can solo them, sure, but don’t force me to group with random people

This would be cool! We can call it “Weekly Demonic Studies”. a group of the resistance captures a big monster and we lock it under the castle for us to kill and study. Idk lmaooo
I feel like the world boss was similar enough to lost arks guardian raids without the need to feel like you have to do it weekly. It’s been a while since I played lost ark, but it had a 15 minute timer, a lot of health (which I hated not being able to see health pools as I slog through and carry people in the fights), it had no requirement on a dumb item you have to farm (the horn thing to show the boss on the map that only 1-2 people actually farmed and the rest of your groups prayed you had it), it was killed easier if you used abilities that stagger the boss like blizzard
Seems blizzard is back to doing what they’re best at which is taking someone’s idea and making it better. That’s what we have with the world bosses. I think some world bosses should have a set amount of deaths or deaths should reduce the timer or something / set amount of health potions like in Lost Ark. That might be neat. But just some of them. Not all

Lost Ark definitely has some good ideas. I love the boss fights to the point that the bosses wear you down rather than just one shot, so during the fight you see that you are not good enough and you can try do something about it. What I don’t like are the mechanics and even more those, who require players to cooperate. Then your fate is out of your hands and the ARPG is reduced to mobile phone minigame.

That’s not being suggested in the OP. Also, Lost Ark world bosses are D4 world bosses. There is hardly a difference.
Not that that’s a bad thing, just that I think of all content, GR are the best endgame to adapt
Please for the love of god do not add these. Having to team up with randoms that refused to learn the fights was a terrible experience. These were one of the many reasons I stopped playing Lost Ark.

You can do them solo in Lost Ark, the boss even scales for solo.
Also, let’s not cater to the lowest common denominator.
If you want boring bosses, you got your wish, there are a few of those in D4 you can run over and over and over, like D3 to your heart’s content.
Lt at least a substantial portion of the community lobby for deep, complex and challenging bosses, some of which can optionally require team work.
Cool. I will play D4 and run over my bosses and you can play Lost Ark and do your guardian raids. We don’t need every game to be the same.

Guardian Raids would be fine with me if they are tuned to be solo, and there is no advantage to doing it with a group, what so ever. I refuse to play wow because of its key running end game. The most unpleasant people in the world.

Here’s a thought then, let’s add some variety to a superior game; D4, that way you can have your walk in the park, and other players that require mental stimulation can have challenging bosses too. Good chat.
Your variety is literally to make it more like an already existing game. Again, you can go get that experience in Lost Ark.
You are also making an assumption that all boss fights in the entire game are as easy as what you have experienced in a small fraction of the game. Maybe wait til you see the full game to ask for tougher fights.
There are both solo- and team options for guardians in LA, and the boss scales accordingly. I found myself enjoying the MP aspects tremendously. Since Blizzard can’t please everyone, now that they’ve dipped into the MMP realm, they might want to go all the way and introduce some SP-only’ers to the joys of teamwork.
Hildebrandt Place abyssal dungeon before AGS nerfed it was the most fun I’ve had in gaming. Took me about 5 hours to do with randoms and the friends we made there was well worth every second.

Tho one thing I’d say about Guardian Raids is the moment they become daily limited and/or timegated, I’m out. They have to be spammable like you can go farm meph all day in D2 or something. No time gating. If that starts happening here, I’m gone 100%.
If they can’t be repeatable with no diminishing returns, then they should not be put in the game.

You can have tough fights by virtue of stats or by complex mechanics. If you’ve played FF14, Lost Ark etc then you should know the difference.
Lost Ark (which is D3 + FF14) simply proved it can effectively be done in this genre.
All I’m asking is that Blizzard captures some of that for their audiences. There’s a reason why Lost Ark was so popular, even outside of Asian, and even with its atrocious gacha style F2P progression system- the bosses are the best in the business (and it has normalized arena PvP which is poorly implemented but it is a selling point)
