Please address how loot can't be picked up

I’m sorry for posting this here but console forums are dead.

Please please please help the console players with a constant frustration.

When Torment Bosses drop the loot on the alter you have to finagle ur character around for minutes trying to pick it up…

When NMD complete and the chest spawns in the air inside the Glyph Alter… U can’t get the chest open…

When loot falls directly inside chests you open up from Horde chests, you can’t pick it up.

Anything where the loot falls inside an interactable object is an absolute nightmare on console, or with a controller in general, and it seriously needs to be addressed. Please for the love of God, move some things around

It’s not just console it always applies to people on PC using a controller. Although on PC you can just grab the mouse. It is a real pain though having to move around until it auto targets the loot.

I just switch to the mouse in that case, I usually play on controller.

I can’t imagine the frustration if you do not have that option

It’s like a mini game without D4 trying to grab the loot that’s stuck. Last night spent like good 5 minutes trying to grab everything that dropped but landed in an awkward spit. At least as far as I know if you left it behind it should be in your stash later on for loot you didn’t pick up at the time, but still very annoying heh.

yea, as its been said already, happens on pc as well. its not super duper terrible as the item can get moved to the chest, but it is a little annoying indeed.

+1 just switched from mouse and keyboard to controller and this is already a pain. Offcourse i can grab my mouse easily but still

for this exact reason, is why I stopped playing on the console and got back on my pc.

that and inventory management.

Be nice to use d-pad to scroll/tab threw the drop and select the loot you want to pickup, or target the object (door, shrine, etc) like they did in d2 resurrected.

Yeah it’s a pain. I bounce between pc and console as I have both. I use controller on pc but can just use mouse as needed. On bosses I try not to kill them where the alter spawns but yeah everything else is a PIA.

I also notice that not everything goes to stash either. I’ve had a lot of legendaries not go to stash. I’m not even talking the 10 limit. I’m talking sometimes not at all. I noticed this when doing helltides.

When I use the controller on my PC I find it much (so much) easier to puck up loot off the ground… Dropping it is slow… though. I wish there was a ‘button’ pickup for PC k/m instead of using the mouse ‘pick’ picking off the ground.

Yea game could definitely use some controller help… I prefer playing with a controller in dungeons etc… but swap back to mouse anytime I’m looting or doing anything with the UI because it’s just so bad on controller…

Except every tormented boss drops significantly past the stash limit… AND, in Torm bosses in particular I’ve found a lot of the items don’t display until you’ve looted some of the others in front of them… So there could be a GA or Uber there behind the 20 normie legendaries that dropped, but you wont know until you pick them all up

well yea, but its usually just 1-2 items i cant pick up with my controller.

There should be an auto-pickup option, like for Gold.

Yep, def needs some work. I’ve been playing couch co-op with myself using 2 different accounts and I don’t care about picking up gear since one of my characters is lvl 100, but I want to pick up summoning mats and elixirs and I end up having to pick up trash items and then just drop them because of the auto targeting.

:keyboard: / :computer_mouse: Supremacy

Actually, I use a trackball. One with the big pool table size ball in the center.

i couldn’t ever imagine…ever playing this game with a controller.

Try it. For general combat its pretty comfortbale. For UI work its not great, but thankfully switching between KB/M and controller is near seamless.

But for the topic at hand; the interact button needs better priority tweaking. How it shares function with action casting and object interaction is a bit off.

Generally I wish it was (highest priority to lowest)

  1. Zoning portal: entrace/exit dungeon, cellar etc…
  2. Shrine Activation
  3. Opening Closed Doors
  4. Action casting on Mob
  5. Item pickup (this has its own sub priorty; unique, leg, mats, glyph/sigil, potions, yellow, white)
  6. Action Casting on destructible
  7. Interacting with object: chest, glyph xp podium, dead bodies etc…
  8. Interacting with NPC
  9. Closing open doors
  10. Action Cast on Ground Target

And then for specific actions (especially mobility and defensive skills) the priority would be tweaked on a case by case.

Relax on the couch, feet up, snack tray nearby play on a 65" Oled TV with sound system …or hunch over keyboard and mouse in the office on an LCD,

Blizzard could simply look at POE or LE and copy that. scroll through loot using DPad, it works very well.

You can just leave 10 items and warp to town and it goes in the box.
