WoW did just fine with an auction house and using other sites to trade is dumb. Consider the players who play at odd hours who get a 3 GA item and no one to sell it to
There has been ton of good feedback on how to make trading better while combatting RMT. Time for something you could call an Auction House indeed. But they best name it differently because of the real money auction house in D3 vanilla having left a really bitter taste for the player population and rightfully so.
For something like an auction house to properly work, Blizz would need to implement safeguards to combat botting / cheating / RMT / duping:
- traded items are bound on account (no flipping)
- gold is account bound and only usable with NPCs (vendors, trading house, crafting)
- sales are capped at, letās say, max 50mil for an item
- no direct player to player trading
- boss mats arenāt tradeable and drops / summon mats need to be adjusted so you can run bosses however you like (and no forced run this to get that to get more to run another boss, what a stupid system)
- an item can only be up for an x-amount of time for sale
- no trading fees for the auction house itself as sales are capped at a max price so there is less need to pull gold out of the economy + rolling and masterworking items is expensive AF in the end game (great items can easily cost several 100million).
This is not wow, auction house in d3 ruined the game.
REAL MONEY AH ruined it⦠an ingame account bound gold only trading intermediate in D4 would do wonders.
I really would like an auction house.
I am at a point in the game where I got several 2ga, 3ga items I need to sell to get gold for rerolling my MW but I am too lazy and want to spend my time playing instead of joining a trade channel/discord/site.
It would be nice like in LE.
let the SSF guys have their faction with higher drop rates and ppl that want to trade their auction house.
I was against open trading but since itās already in⦠Auction house (gold only) would be nice, clowns spamming 1 GA trash items + rmt spam on trade channelā¦
As i have said many times, A gold only Auction House with Gold caps on items being sold, Might work to some degree. Itās funny that all of you say stuff like combatting RMT while saying nothing about gold selling which is RMT. So if Blizzsoft puts a gold cap on items that would help combat gold sellers to some degree.
my bet is, they are involved somehow. Otherwise why can some small indie company get this right, and some billion dollar company cant have it?
There was RMT auction house in D3?! Of course it was terrible thenāits a stupid idea. What kind of moron implements an RMT trade house? Devs cant and shouldnāt punish us with no auction house because D3 made a stupid design choice.
Who TF thinks an RMT AH is ever a good idea? Ingame gold only
WoW does not allow the best gear to be sold on the AH. The D4 equivalent would be like having an AH where only regular and sacred items can be sold, and all ancestral items are BoA. So the WoW comparison does not work.
An AH in D4 would make the whole game P2W. I want an ARPG, not an auction/economy simulator. Trading is available now for those who want to do it. If youāre too lazy or scared to use the Diablo.trade site, thatās your choice.
And Ubers are not tradable, so why not
It is already a trading sim right now if you didnāt notice.
You will never max a char unless you trade or play on eternal
Because then the gameplay loop becomes zoom up to level 55, buy all your ancestral legendaries/uniques off the AH, farm for Uber uniques (if you even need any), and then your season is done. See the problem?
We already have people complaining that theyāre bored and there isnāt enough to do. That will increase 10x if there is an AH.
There is some percentage of players (probably a small minority) that treat the game like a trading simulator now. Adding an AH to the game will direct every single player there. Thatās very different.
Iād like to be able to make some trades on the in-game ātrading modeā.
Including those ātime-basedā items, such as gold, Sty stones, boss summoning materials, etc., so that I have more ways and options to obtain them.
But I donāt want to trade things that are ābased on rare dropsā or āincrease the strength capā like 3GAs and Uniques, which would completely change the nature of the game.
So nothing changed? You replace the word AH with d.trade thatās the exact experience.
If you donāt use AH, or prefer d.trade, then nothing is changing for you
Stop trying to block other people having a better experience, wtf is wrong with you guys
No, itās different. With d.trade people that really want to have a trading simulator can go do that. With an AH, itās essentially forced on everyone.
Have you considered all the players that donāt want an AH? There are a great many of us. Why are you trying to block us from having an AH free experience? Wtf is wrong with you?
Blizz has all ready stated that no plans for ah
It IS forced on everyone now. You think I like using a garbage 3rd party site? I donāt but I want to max my char.
Like I said, nothing is changed if you love that garbage site so much or donāt trade.
No, it isnāt forced on anyone. People who have an OCD obsession with having 3 white stars on every piece of gear say itās forced, but you can do all the content in the game without gear like that.
If you really believe an AH and d.trade are the same experience, you wouldnāt be asking for an AH.
This doesnāt make sense⦠Ok to trade via third party site but not an AH with the same available items?
People are not advocating for real money AH but to use in-game gold to purchase in the same manner an external trade site is used. This may even flatten out the economy some more as more people can engage in legitimate trading in-game.
It wonāt be the same. It would be vastly more players and millions more items. It doesnāt matter anyway, as Blizzard has stated they have no plan for an AH.
