Ok so for the completionists out there please add a quest tracker so i know which quests i need

Is the renown quest tracker not enough?

There is a quest tracking in the map screen but it is usually out of the way (right sign of screen)
id need a way to find exactly which ones i missed and where they are. no way im combing back through that stuff. screw it.

There are a few sites that list all quests and side quests available too. I can’t add links yet but there’s a reasonable interactive map at d4builds.gg. Just use a search engine to find it if you can’t figure out that address.
yes im using that and i have a terrible time remembering if i had done a herb drop quest or a mob drop and i am missing 1 quest in a zone
there are blue dots on your map that shows quests that you havent picked up yet
Ah! That could be a problem. As far as I know there’s no way to track completed quests at this stage. Which seems really silly. You’d have to write it down but obviously that’s a little late for you.
The current quest tracker is completely brain dead. If I pick up a blue side quest to go do something in a dungeon, then pick up another blue side quest before I enter the dungeon, then it’s not smart enough to start tracking the quest that currently applies and I’ll be running around the dungeon with absolutely no progress messages telling me what I’m supposed to be doing for the quest or even to progress through the dungeon.
Even WoW is 10x better than this.

and wow even has a /command to tell you if youve completed a quest
not always. a bunch of stuff is on drop or on gathering, without a mark on map.
then your character goes something like “WhAt Is ThIs!?”
yes but if there are no blue dots in the zone left to get then you know that all you have left are the drop ones. It’s not the same as telling you which exact ones you’ve done but at least you narrow it down quite easily that way.
Yes but then you have to remember every quest you have done already. I have 4 quests left in fractured peaks for instance. No way am I remembering what I have already done. I am assuming its a dropped item probably in some random dungeon or something but thats just too much effort to figure out some random drop.

I would like very much a quest journal that allows you to see all previously completed quests as well. Would be a nice QoL, if blizzard reads this, please work on adding this when you have time. (hopefully sooner rather than later xD)
Been asking for this since beta it’s wild that we don’t have this on full release.
You know what I do if I need to remember something but have a horrible time doing so? I make a note.
If you’re playing on PC (and I assume you are this this is the PC General Discussion forum) open up wordpad or notepad and write down which quests you’ve done, that way you can refer to that if you forget and say to yourself: “Right, I’ve already done the Sealed Exorcist’s Cache quest, so there’s no point farming in the Fractured Peaks for that.”
It’s like how we used to write down cheat codes back in the day. It’s very handy.
Think he means for it to show finished quests as well which the journal in game does not.
What renown tracker? it only says you have X quest left. Man, mostly all the side quest are hidden, even Elden Ring let you chose more.
nope, there are a ton of side quest not showing.
some of them are loot quests and not just talk to an npc
