Plea to the developers: Do not add "greater rifts"

Jokes on you. “Nightmare Dungeons” are actually greater rifts. Did you abandon D4 yet?

No, they should ignore the Diablo 3 players in favour of actual arpg fans.

Based and true. Based and true.

If they don’t open up trade 100% completely and introduce interesting items, they will solve their problems the same way they did with Diablo 3 and just slap timers on things and we will have greater riffs again. That’s what I have expected for a long time now. They’ve learned nothing.

non-set builds (or even a basic 2-piece) are completely viable. go look through the season and non-season leaderboards. know what you will see? people not using 6-sets. sure those builds might not be as popular and they might rely on harder to find items, but they are still 100% viable.

i literally ran a crusader this past season, in the top 50 of the leaderboard. i was using a 2-piece accessory set. not a 6-piece like you are talking about with the 10000% more damage. my non-season sader is top 10 leaderboard. using an ancient LoN-bomb build from like 15 seasons ago that I have tweaked along the way.

Greater Rifts are already in D4. Just labelled differently.

Nightmare Dungeons ARE Greater Rifts.

You need a sigil (GR Key) to open them and then you can upgrade your Glyph (Legendary Gem) upon completion.
And the difficulty in each Nightmare Dungeon increases with each level.

Nightmare Dungeons = Greater Rift
Sigil = Greater Rift key
Glyph = Legendary gem

It’s all there, just a different label.

Thankfully nightmare dungeons stop at 100. I’m just using greater rifts in quotation marks as an example of infinite scaling. That’s what is really not desired. I don’t know why that’s being lost on people. I’m also not a big fan of nightmare dungeons, but they’re here and I don’t have to solely run them.

And yet, D3 rifts feel entirely more soulless, grindy, and annoying. The main reason I quit D3.

Why are you terrified of numbers? If time to kill is balanced just turn off the number display and you have vanquished the evil big numbers that terrify you.

I’m scared of a shallow video game.

We don’t like those D3 mechanics.
Simple as that.

I’m amazed how the WoW whale seems to think there are only blizzard games in the world. D3 is a failure, when people talk about something bad they say D3, this game is a joke in ARPG circles and NOTHING from this game should be copied, but unfortunately it was.
Look what the titan has done, look what PoE is doing, even mixed-gender games like GW2 do everything d4 proposed 30x better. this game is failing due to the arrogance of the Devs who think that D3 was good and that they have to displease the fans of D2, due to the incredible armor that WoW whales do when attacking any real and constructive criticism, ALL the problems of this game were communicated in the many betas, and here we are with a broken game, full of ideas that not only don’t work but are repetitions of mistakes made in D3. I don’t think even new world got a death as fast as D4

I dont think they will do greater rifts. Greater rifts are not liked by many.

Rifts are fine as long as they aren’t the only addition to the endgame. At this point something is better than nothing.

Not even close.

GRifts have no backtracking, always end in a boss, have the loot concentrated in the end, doesnt have lame objectives like NMD, layouts and enemies change constantly etc

NMD are nothing like GRifts, they are way, way more boring

Ur horse racing idea is by far way better than ur idea for weekly/daily stuff in the game. Even tho horse racing is dumb af for this game.

GTFOH with that crap. It has no business in any game. Only reason for this to be in game is to please the share holders. It does absolutely ZERO for the players.

Nor does it respect ur time in the game sence ur now forces to log in daily or weekly to do said content

Enough of this fomo bullSh!t

If your problem is infinite scaling, you should have said so in the title

GRifts have NOTHING to do with infinite scaling, they are completely different things that are not tied together

Better than what they are doing now.

turning n/m into them…

I guess I’m not seeing how NMD’s are all that different than Greater Rifts. Other than one you didn’t have to carry stones around and back track 500 miles.

this is what annoys me, you want a different game.

N/m work fine, you are correct they are not rifts, they are not suppose to be.

like rifts play d3 for now, maybe they can add rifts to D4 later.
