On Playstation 5, the screen seems to go very dim at random times. It happens especially when going through skill tree and paragon points making visibility poor. Now, with season 3 going, it also happens consistently in vaults and dungeons and even open world, towns, and the new season 3 Gate Hall.
Of particular note, the screen dimming makes visibility of the traps very difficult which obviously ruins any fun or playability of this season’s new content.
This problem was present in season 2 as well, but was tolerable if very annoying. But the visibility issues with traps makes the game unplayable for season 3 content.
At first, I thought is was an afk problem as I first noticed it in Season 2 while going through paragon nodes and it took a while between inputs. I see now however that it persists even when exiting and logging out of the game. The screen had dimmed in game, and then I exited to the login screen and only then did the screen brighten.
In game, moving the character around eventually, but not right away, causes the screen to brighten back up.
Diablo IV is the only game on my ps5 that I’m having this issue with so it isn’t the console.
