Would I be able to sign into my friend’s account on my computer if we both own the game, just wanting to play on their account and vice versa.
Elon it that you?
Don’t do the crime if you can’t do the time.
I wouldn’t risk it. Account sharing is against the EULA.
you could always try it and let us know… i hear they unban people quickly who make that small mistake…
Yes that is possible but not allowed. But why ???
It is indeed. However, id argue that its only relevant due to security factors.
I dont see anyone getting banned from “just sharing an account”. However, be mindful that your account is your responsibility. If there are actions happening that generally lead to bans, you cant pull a get out of Jail card aka “i didnt do that!!!”.
I EVER find out you logged into your friends account from your home and i will spam report you SO FAST for account sharing and attempted RMT services!
I dont think anyone cares if he breaks rules or doesnt. Its his own account responsibility.
Well, bob, I couldn’t care less if they try to break the rules or not. Just giving some advice about a question they asked. That’s what the forum is for.
Not sure why you have a problem with that.
Maybe its a sensible topic for bob. Who knows, eventually he got banned for this and now sticks around because hes sad?
i would imagine the onus is on Blizzard to prove that i am not the one playing my account. If i have TFA and im logging in from someone else’s computer to play my account, then it seems that you cant be banned.
However, what makes sense and what Blizzard does are two parallels. Be prepared to fight a ban if they take issue with it, even if you could argue that you arent account sharing (when in fact you are, but how the heck are they gonna prove otherwise?).
yea agreed. Hence why i pretty much think its just to make sure that people take their account responsibility serious.
i mean, we already had this here - someone claiming he got banned because “a friend did something on his account”. Yea, though luck. lol.
Not sure what Blizz does, but noticing a different IP than the one normally associated with an account might send up a red flag.
That makes sense, but if you travel often and still play from your laptop, you are registering different IPs anyway, so it doesnt seem to be a great way to confirm suspicions (esepcially if you are like me and use your phones hotspot versus connecting to hotel/airport wi-fi).
But, again, blizz will do what they do.
Edit: just dont account share, there is really not a lot of benefit.
Oh, I’m sure they have other ways, as well, to check authenticity.
But, yeah, best to just not try.
Waiting for blizz to require us to insert an ethernet cable into our bums to verify DNA proof that we are who we say we are before we can play. Trying to log in to another persons account using your own bum results in Blizz shutting down your brain.
Easier to ask than to read the rules. The EULA could have a clause where you agree to give them your first born child and 99% of players would never know it.
I highly recommend you do read the rules and not rely on anything posted here.
I know that takes away an excuse if you get banned but the little effort it takes to inform yourself gives you the ability to avoid the ban if you so choose.
Good Luck.
not a problem to just ask here, but yea, just to make extra sure:
- Please take a few moments to review Blizzard’s Account Security information here. You must maintain the confidentiality of the Login Information, as you are responsible for all uses of the Login Information and the Account, including purchases, whether or not authorized by you. If you become aware of or reasonably suspect any breach of security, including without limitation any loss, theft, or unauthorized disclosure of the Login Information, you must immediately notify Blizzard through Blizzard Support.
edit: Link should take you to the english version. Since im german it will just show the german link for me ^^
He is just doing what he always does.

I guess if you came to ask if you’re allowed to, then you found out. But in theory, your friend can ‘visit you’ at home and certainly ‘sit at’ your computer and log into ‘their own’ account & play ‘their own’ character, right? Nothing stopping them.
Do you understand the sandwich I’m serving you? Blizzard doesn’t care what machine an account logs into, except if it’s currently (in the year 2025, without warp technology) impossible to have traveled the distance, in time to have stepped away from the 1st location & logged into the 2nd location. If it is impossible, then don’t bother I guess.
