Playing Diablo 4 is having BLIND FAITH. All of us fans have it. If you don’t understand it, here’s a definition and it applies to almost all of us diehard players who love the game even though it sometimes sucks. Blind faith is a Lack of Evidence: Blind faith is often described as belief in something without any concrete evidence or proof. Blind Faith is Absence of Reason: It involves accepting something without a rational basis or understanding. Blind Faith is Unquestioning Acceptance: Blind faith typically involves a lack of critical thinking or questioning.
Blind Faith is Rejection of Logic: It can be seen as a rejection of rational analysis and the need for evidence-based reasoning. This explains why after 7 seasons of commenting input from players with no results, we are still playing. We all have Blind Faith things will change.
No “we” don’t. I’m accepting the game as it is, as long as I can get some fun out of it. When it stops being fun, I’ll play something else… like month 2/3 of every season. I’m not bothering myself with the future of D4… i’ll see it when it comes, if i’m still around.
While I agree with your definition of blind faith I don’t agree that everyone here has it for this game. I myself criticize the game daily. I know its flaws, I know what I don’t like about the game. It isn’t Blind Faith that keeps me coming back, or believing it will somehow magically get better in the next major update.
I enjoy the gameplay loop every season. I enjoy completing the seasonal objectives. When I’m done I move onto another game until the next season hits. Simple as that. When/if the game gets to the point I no longer enjoy it, I’ll move on. Just like I’ve done with every other game I’ve played.
Like it or hate it you have a choice. Play it or don’t play it you have a choice. Complain about everything or move on you have a choice. You are talking about a game not treatment for cancer. Your life dose not depend on it, or dose it?

Who is ready TO PAY for a new Expansion???
I mean, I don’t know of any game that gives out expansions for free. I’m ready to wait a month after release for when it goes on sale to pay for it.
No Man’s Sky
And the comment wasn’t really about the expansion being free, but people paying for more of the same broken thing.
No idea what that is. Too many abbreviations for video games. New Monthly Subscription?
Ah no man’s sky, well good on them. So 1 non-seasonal game so far.
I dont. Game feels Like a Elevator Ride that gets you nowhere and restarts all 3 monzh
Oh god this thread is dramatic settle down princess
I really wish Blind Faith had more than one album. It was awesome. I mean Clapton, Winwood, Ginger Baker and crew… great stuff.
I think if the seasons remain the same, or almost the same, I’ll honestly play less and less.
Blind faith with good controls*
If I don’t play Poe2 it’s because it’s impossible for me to control a range character with “click to move”.
Waiting for version 1.0 or for someone to tell me they changed the controls.
The only way to know if something’s improving is to test it. That’s why I play each season: I’m curious to see if it feels any different, or if it’s still the boring pastiche with afk-style combat & regurgitated, buggy season mechanics… it only takes, what, 30 minutes? A couple hours? Sometimes 5? No faith needed.
One day it might take 30 hours… and that’s when something’s changed dramatically - but it’s ok if it never does. The testing is still justified. Science, not faith.
Pragmatic, yes. Faith for a game or a technology producer, pass. Play cause of net positive. That changes, don’t play. D4 has things going for it and not going for it. See how it goes. Easy.
Or many people just like playing it. No faith necessary.
i can only associate faith with diablo 2.
diablo 3 & 4 are low-cost, low-quality consumer entertainment products to me.
It is the opposite of blind faith.
It is flat out denial.
You paid a lifetime ticket to sample food at a restaurant. The managers swear (every 3-4 months) there are tasty additions, including improvements under the hood (UI buffs - which have been real in D4 - fixes to specific bugs, etc.). You’re not going to step in & get your free sample even though the place is right there across the street?
You can get food poisoning from restaurant food. No such downside here. I’m betting every dedicated scrooge does way more boring, time-wasting activities than boot up a piece of software that they 99% expect is still junky… one time every few months. (Avoiding disappointment is a bit too precious, unless you happen to have emotional difficulties.)
If you needed the space & deleted it - I get it. Get your info some other way, sure. But if you’re willing to root for the franchise to get better, there’s no easier way to communicate a basic impression to the devs than to log in, try the season in earnest, and then quit. They know your past engagement, it does register. And you didn’t financially reward them, you tested their (mediocre) product.
