Hello,
I have the quest for a tier 46+ nightmare dungeon and I have been doing 50+ maps and the quest will not complete. Is this happening to anyone else? Once I enter the nightmare dungeon it shows the icon for the quest outside the dungeon when I am tracking it, but then it doesn’t show on the map when i am out of the dungeon. Please help!!

The quest is for completing a Pit run, you just need to do NMD46+ to get the mats for The Pit.
Try completing Pit tier 1 and you will see the quest completed.
Are the runeshards rare drops? i just find it weird i havent seen a single one drop and ive done plenty of nightmares and tides.
No i have over 400 of them, (Pit costs 3)
You need to do NMD46+ and open the chest at the end.
Ive been doing them but theres no chest at the end just the glyph upgrade device.
There is a chest right next to the Glyph upgrade thing

I have the same issue. I’ve run 5 or so Nightmare dungeons before the patch and after that I’ve completed the Tier 4 world quest to run 70+ dungeon, came back to tier 3, did another Nightmare dungeon and still no progress in this quest. I get no materials after I kill the last boss in the dungeon. Only the pedestal to lvl up my Glyphs.

What do you mean by came back to tier 3?
You need to do a Nightmare Dungeon tier 46+ to get the materials for The Pit, anything lower than that wont give you any materials.
Wintality, we have the quest but the game is broken for us and upon completing the dungeon there is no chest just a drop of stuff from the boss and the pedestal to upgrade gyphyps. Just a broken game for some.

I thought it was bugged too. I first misunderstood the quest… I thought it was saying ‘level’ 46+ but realized it was ‘tier’. Make sure you are using the right sigil. Occultist > Ancestral > Tier 41-50 or up.

Thank you, sir for pointing it out. I could have sworn that it said “level”, not “tier” before.
I now understand that I need to run 46 Nightmare modified dungeons before I finish this quest.

I have ran a 51-60 and still can’t finish the stupid quest. It is making me made I have been trying for two days now. I am level 97 and can’t get to the pit…
I am having the same exact issue in Season 4. Playing Necromancer and Level 75 now. I’ve completed almost 100 Nightmare Dungeons and this special quest chest is not dropping! Details below…
Used “Tier 1 Sigil (Monster Level: 55)” which required World Tier 3. I took screenshots as proof, but this forum doesn’t allow image uploads or links/URLs. I flew through the dungeon (less than 10 min) and killed the final boss; NO CHEST appeared. The boss only drops the randomized loot they always do.
NOTE: I am running Tier 40 (Monster Level: 94 - World Tier 4) multiple times a day and same issue. I’ve never gotten the special chest drop! BLIZZARD, this is a big issue for those of us who are here for end-game content & challenges! Please acknowledge and respond!
As previously stated. and not only here. You need to run Nightmare Dungeon Tier 46+.
Anything below that will not give you the progression on the quest or a material chest to open.
NOTE: I am running Tier 40 (Monster Level: 94 - World Tier 4) multiple times a day and same issue.
Which isn’t a bug, since the requirement is that you run a Tier46 or higher NMD in order to unlock the pits.

I ran a nightmare dungeon higher than Tier 46 (50 to be exact). It didn’t have a chest at the end, it dropped an exact Tier 46 dungeon sigil. I ran that dungeon and the chest was at the end with the materials.
The quest isn’t to run a nightmare dungeon 46 or more times.
The quest is to run a Torment Tier 46 or higher dungeon.
I still have this issue I have completed the NMD 46+ many many times over and over and still will not let me access the pit what ever I do, I do run torment dungeons and I have completed many level 81 torment dungeons and still no access to the pit
Are you sure its a NMD TIER 46+??
Many players think its NMD with monster lvl 46+.
Do you open the chest that spawns when completing it?
