Pit Fights got Nerfed

I run a Heartseaker Rogue as my main. I don’t have perfect gear, but Its pretty close to ideal for the build. I consider myself an average player at best. I would farm tier 91 of the Pit for mats. At 91 you get 50 neathiron, which is easy to keep track of. And at tier 91 the pit required my attention, but wasn’t stressful. I could generally complete it in just over 8 minutes.

Today, I logged in following the patch and cleared a tier 91 pit in under 5 minutes. I did it twice more just to make certain there wasn’t some weird RNG going on. No more waves of minions with dual damage resistance and extra life. Elites seem to have far less life as well. Bosses no longer survive past the first stagger phase. Everything feels like its life pools were significantly reduced.

Yeah its to make sure ppl stop bi******* and moaning about how temper bricks their item and hiw expensive it is. So Blizzard made farming easier . . .

I don’t quite understand. How is the pit being easier related to item bricking from temper?

I don’t think it is, not really. But, the idea is that by being able to more easily farm gear and materials from end game content, players may not be as upset over the frustrations of the current tempering system.
However, anyone who believes this to be the case, clearly hasn’t spent much time on this and other Diablo IV forums. The tempering system appears to be so completely loathed that Blizzard could shower the player base with 3 star legendary items and it still wouldn’t distract them.

Tempering doesnt use pit mats, not sure whats the correlation. Try again.

I should note that I actually really like the changes to the Pit. Dealing with endless waves of damage sponges in the Pit would get tedious. And boss fights just became a chore to complete with the amount of life you had to whittle down. I am enjoying my pit runs far more now.

at least 10 tier easier
I used to farm 100 within 4 mins, now can do the same for 110

And as one of those “12 chars” owner (7 in my case) i cant be more happy , was so sick of play always my shadow minion necro there for the orange materials .
For example i was having a nightmare doing a 61 in my Blood Surge necro , now she can do 71 even with some few mins left .

Ty for the feedback.

They made it easier because people weren’t bothering with master working.

Did the nerf the mat drop rate too though? I was getting 60 mats at level 102. At level 109 only getting 63.

It’s not a very appealing endgame loop. Grind 2 floors and a boss on repeat for a chance to improve your gear enough to grind 2 more floors and a boss with higher health + damage sliders.

So they had to water things down again just to pacify the crybabies. :sob:

You are right it doesnt use pit mats. But by making pit easier to farm, people can do higher pits to have greater chances of getting their desired bases and while doing so can stack up on mats so when they do get their perfect stats, masterworking will be accounted for. One system benefits the other !!!

I think less about that and more about driving engagement towards their featured seasonal activity. More accessibility equals more engagement, otherwise the activity itself is a bust.

With the pit going to level 200 there’s plenty for the hardcore to do yet. This was a very good decision on Blizz’s part imo

yeah, felt like it’s way too easy now. Farming pit 115 with my heartseeker like nothing

dial it up bro there’s 85 more levels of it

Meta builds complaining about pit difficulty, so lay Druid or just dial up your pit level. Change is meant to help off meta builds but it’s a bandaid for the poor class and skill balance in the game.

why balance skills. just nerf mob hp as hard as possible so even the worst build works. actually smart move.
