I’m a little confused when it comes to the difficulty increase between pit levels. I’m not referring so much to play style or skill, just how fast/easy a toon clears a pit as an indicator as to how much higher he can go. For example, if you run a 3 min 80, pretty safe to say you can run an 85. But this seems to change at 100. I can easily clear a 3 minute 100 but get completely destroyed at 105. It’s like the pit just takes a massive jump in difficulty.
well from how i understand it, the difficulty increases exponentially, so yea, at a certain pit difficulty, a simple 5 level jump can be almost impossible to clear.
hmm, not real sure I agree with this approach. This would mean you gear would have to improve exponentially as well to make any progress and that is extremely difficult to accomplish at that level. It seems to me your performance at one level should be a good indicator as to your performance at a higher level. It’s odd to be able to do 3-minute pits up to 100 and bam! brick wall. Thanks for the info.
This.
Enemy HP increases something like 17% per pit tier in a compounding fashion. So what you’re seeing from 80 to 85 is you’re still doing enough damage that the HP growth doesn’t matter. But eventually the exponent (1.17^N) catches up to your damage output. What tier it catches up at depends on your build, gear, Paragon, etc.
