Dev team. Let’s both compromise on this issue, shall we?
How about you only add the boss debuff (those from tormented bosses) to higher tiers?
Please seriously consider the following:
T1 - T89 Pit: no debuff added
T90 - T119 Pit: Debuff added to the Lilith’s attacks only
T120 - T159 Pit: Debuff added to the Lilith’s attacks and the second shadow boss attacks
T160 - T200 Pit: Debuff added to all the 3 shadow boss attacks.
For builds that lack of mobility and especially melee builds, adding the debuff is extremely unfair. The difficulty increase is not the same across the board. Please reconsider.
i mean, they are making it easier, and you want it to be even easier?
all classes can have the same amount of evades + can get movement speed on their gear. i dont see how any class could be at a serious disadvantage when it comes to movement.
I do not believe that is the case. They already nerfed the pit boss damage, I believe. The Lilith’s smash down attack, for example, used to be able to one shot my barb. It does not one shot now. It is still a high damage attack, but it will not necessarily kill. With the debuff coming in S5, it will make it harder if each shadow boss attack adds a debuff. I think the first shadow boss’s attack is the hardest to dodge unless you are willing to just run far far away…
Really, to dodge all those shadow boss attacks, you need to run around the boss room. If you find that fun, I have no words…
I always try to dodge the Lilith attack. I also always try to dodge the fire bombardment attack. I do not know what it is called. It is that demon lord flying above and shoots fire balls to the ground, and you will see circles on the ground. Sometimes the space between two hit areas is too small and you end up getting hit by both attacks. It can be hard when several circles are very close to each other while you do not have any long distance mobility skill. I also dodge the blood bishop attack as well.
I normally ignore the first shadow boss attacks, Elias’ fireballs, the Tomb Lord’s bone walls, etc. The only attack from the second shadow bosses that I do not dodge is the snake’s stun attack. It does not really do damage, but it has 5 stuns trying to hit you. I normally just use unstoppable.
I will only say that the majority of builds cannot come even close to 1 shotting the boss. The boss and their shadow attackers should not be able to come close to 1 shotting the player. Should you be able to just stand and tank the boss, absolutely not, but 1 shots are cheese whether it’s the player doing it or the bosses. Too much of this stuff is being built to give broken/meta builds a challenge (which they fail to do consistently) leaving the player base at large to deal with crap mechanics with builds that should be able to do the content but can’t (ie: they can clear all other content in game). There definitely will be and should be ceilings a good build hits, but not in the required content to advance in the game, and you should know well before you get to the boss that you are trying content above your pay grade.
There is nothing fun or challenging about being 1 shot.
Get rid of this debuff in pits or let us clean the debuff. Every game you have has a way to clean debuffs. Also why am I getting debuffs still while iron skin is active?
I would rather see that these debufs only last 1 minute. So if you get hit with a cheap one, after one minute it wears off. The pit boss 120+ have so much health that it takes 7 minutes to fight them, and its really annoying if you get a cheap debuff in beginning, and another one when the boss is almost dead. In general you can see some patterns, but during a 7 minute boss fight there are always a couple where you are like “what that didn’t hit me”, or something just didn’t do the preattack hints and just lands on you and there is nothing you can do.
If we are going to have to spend as much time in pits as it currently looks like, and we won’t know until 2.0 launches, then debuffs have to go period. They represent an artificial way of trying to stretch out people’s playing time but more importantly getting one shot pisses people off. I can’t think of a more stupid business practice than pissing off your customers.
IDK, but it seems like the pit bosses have gotten harder in the past several weeks. There are many of is non Uber gamers who play D4. Indeed, I suspect there are many more of us than there are of the ones who keep complaining the game is too easy.
