So I levelled my Glyphs as high as I can. I can clear Pit 90 in about 3-4 minutes. But when I go to Pit 95 I cannot even take out the first Mob. They do not take damage. I tried Pit 95 4 times and I had to end game. I don’t die, but neither do the monsters?
Some of the non elite trash appear to take damage but the Elites seem invulnerable. I looked around but there were none of the shield granting, and the Elites did not even have the Extra Life, barrier, or other attributes that would normally make them indestructible.
Is there that big of a HP jump from 90 to 95, or some other factor that exponentially affects the mobs? I am in this situation for both my Rogue and Ice Shard Sorc. The builds are ok considering my Pit 90 Clear time.
There must be something else. There is quite a difference in mob toughness between 90 and 95 but not as much as you described. If you can do 90 in 3-4 minutes, you should be able to complete 95. Yes, it will take much longer but not impossible.
You did 90 in 4 min but cant even take out the first mob in 95?? Did you switch your gear or something?
No, I just tried again. Pit 90, easy sailing. But in 95 it took me 10 minutes to kill the small mob at the door just so I could exit. Insane. Eventually stunned the elite long enough for me to port out. Pit 90 I can run without elixers or essences. I had both when I try the 95.
im assuming your rogue is running the DT build? you shouldnt be having issues with the rogue, and cannot speak for sorc as i do not play that class, but if all you want is to get your glyphs to 100, i can defs run you if you want, and could potentially help with your rogue build if you using DT
I appreciate the feedback. Just a bit disappointed. I took a break, came back and tried 4 different Pits. I did a 95 with my Ice Shard sorc. She is my A tier girl and it was slow. But it was possible. Same build with her and again, I am just unable to put a dent in anything. My DT Rogue is great but 95 is just impossible. I am even fine with cutting it close on time, but the elites health does not drop. I tried different boss powers. My gear is almost all 1 GA.
Oh well.
My end game stops here. I do appreciate the offer to help with the glyphs, but I do enjoy the fight. They will rest in Eternal soon with their predecessors.
Would it have anything to do with the fact that as you go higher in the 90s pits that aside from higher monster HP, the devs have lazily relied on gimmicks such as Damage Reduction Aura monsters in every other room?
I think I got to Pit 99 with my DT Rogue at about P250 before the tedium got too much. All I can offer is try to keep moving and stealthing/unstealthing because both are big damage multipliers. I think I hit for the most when dashing into an enemy and then starting DT.
My girl had the same experience with her Sorcerer in D4 in many Pit runs where some regular NON-elite monsters and some Elite monsters health bar without any shield wouldn’t move as if nothing could kill them until after some time they finally died. Lol!
This seems oddly artificial in Pit runs and other areas of the game in higher Torment Tiers and it’s possibly AI assisted to either slow players down or hinder players progress altogether, especially since Blizzard admitted to using AI to help with D4. My girl is currently playing D4 Torment 3.
Something is NOT right with this and with D4 overall, and if Blizzard is using AI to hinder a player’s progress in the game, that would be very messed up and wrong, big time! Then again, what else can we expect from a broken, buggy beta game Blizzard still hasn’t properly fixed or improved after over 2 years! - Unreal! - JJ -
I too have had runs where for some unfathomable reason, mobs become damage sponges. I can do a sequence of runs at the same Pit level to level up a fresh glyph, blast through them in no time at all, and then suddenly have a run that drags on because everything takes ages to drop. No barrier, no indicator that they’re under an aura effect. Sure looks something isn’t working as it should sometimes.
it happened a similar thing to me
i did a 102 in about 5 min and i was like ‘‘finally my build is great, let’s try a 105’’
1st attempt 105, no damage to any mobs
2nd attempt 105, finally some dmg, completed in more than 14 min, less than 30 sec left
could be because i play ls sorc and maybe i did something wrong (snapshots… i hate them) but still the difference between a 102 and a 105 is too big
Like I said above near pit 100 every 3 pits the life of mobs is exponentially higher, so even the mobs you see in that pit matters. This might be new to some but fishing is a thing for the boss and the mob types also. There are some mobs that I see on my barb and tele out. Then the other big thing about LS sorc is getting the Overpower aka a 3% chance so once in every 33 pits.
Every high pit you see on the unofficial leaderboard means they spent time entering and leaving the pit for the overpower then again hoping for a boss with adds. This is why people run out of pit keys. Last season with a necro and less so on druid it made no difference what you see once you entered a 150. Barbs on the other hand still had to be a but more careful because they were and still are squish lords to dish the damage required.
Honestly if had fixed spiritborns in s6 immediately on the PTR we wouldn’t have had these issues because they had capped pits to 100, everyone was having a hard time even getting there but the SBs that dog walked that level leading them to uncap it back to 150 and like always they released broken items ugly/mantle for barbs as an example that opened everything up again.
That’s what I’m thinking. I really wonder how far the damage suppressor mobs affect area actually is. I generally will target them even if they aren’t not remotely near where I’m fighting. I just don’t want to take a chance the area effect of the damage suppression is bugged. As soon as they are on the screen they become kill on sight for me.
