A question for Pulverize Bears:
If you only have room for two of these four, which would you choose?
Crashstone
Retaliation
Ballistic
Mending
Thanks for your thoughts!

if 2h, ballistic on ammy + crashstone wherever
when u have slow boots (or roar) they’ll always be cc’d so it’s always up
mending is nice while leveling for anti cc in trash but it’s not great in later NMs, wasted slot
retaliation depends on fortify value which is at best equivalent to crashstone, and often slightly less
but I guess if you have low crit and good fortify gain, retaliation might be better than crashstone at first, in terms of consistency
so sounds like ballistic and mending for lower leveling before 50, but once you have enough CC such as shockwave aspect, then you swap with crashstone.
To once you have uniques then those aspects aren’t that useful anymore. However mending stones seems to be useful for survivability though, you sure?
In my opinion, mother’s embrace sounds better for more resource regen
from a hc perspective, crashstone and mending. Ballistic gets overrun once you find vasilys, and retaliation is not reliable source post 50+ sigils.
I think the mother’s embrace you get from the campaign is ok for like t3 breaking into t4 as a temp ring, but in general is a trap. single target sustain is pulv’s main issue, which mother’s embrace doesn’t address (need 5+ mobs). but it’ll take time to find a 50 spirit ‘balanced’ aspect and spirit cost reduced gear. I found as a temp measure that 30% basic atk speed aspect on ring helped in that regard since it’s applicable for both cases, and reduced spirit% gear works in both cases too. But eventually you’ll want to replace basic atk speed with balanced or crashstone or whatever as you get a larger relative spirit pool and unlock the ancestral guidance board.
Retaliation has a similar issue to ME (and mending imo) in that it’s up when it matters the least (easy packs), but when you get into a dicey situation and you’re getting dunked on, you lose that bonus as you lose your fort, like the guy above me was talking about, I think.
basically you want to solve the single target sustain issue & the cc issue in 1 way or another, and it’s largely personal preference i think how you go about that. I’d really like to shill 1h pulverize lategame as a solution to both cc and spirit but it’s pretty niche / hard to gear.
i still use ballistic with vasily’s, since it’s 5% base dmg per +lvl, which is more relative dmg than a 40% crit equiv aspect at endgame when scaling via rampaging. can’t speak about hc though.
Thanks n32, thats really good feedback!
