Because I’m sorry it just doesn’t feel right to me.
Nothing against new and innovative. I am very interested in trying it. But the whole general idea of it feels like it ought to be called a Shaman.
And yes, this is just my opinion. But Shaman also rolls off the tongue more. And it’s something we haven’t had in the series yet.
Spirit Born is fine, I’m at least willing to test/see for myself and understand the character more.
I think it’s too early to jump to any conclusions until we AT LEAST see the back story/fighting style.
TBH, current Druid should be called Shaman, because he uses totem and his caster playstyle is sometimes copy of shaman from WoW
Maybe Spiritborn is some sort of combination of Amazon and Paladin, none knows yet and if so I don’t think “shaman” would be a good name for it ;D
Shaman from EQ and every other RPG with one in it besides WoW doesn’t use any totems.
They use elemental spirits and ancestor powers, and spears and polearms across the board. EVERY one besides WoW.
Honestly, I would have loved to see a Shaman class added to Sanctuary with a Native American, Inuit, or Algonquin theme (or all three!). It would be really cool, and some awesome transmogs as a result, too.

So, it’s a Shaman then. 
The choice to pick a unique name is to make it stand out.
Right now if you search shaman you’ll get a ton of options on youtube or tiktok but if you search spiritborn you’ll just get diablo content.
Yea i agree Spirit Born is lazy as hell man.
Nobody on earth is buying Diablo based off of google image searches.
Not the point. A unique name could peak someone’s interest where if you just call it shaman a person won’t research at all cause they know what shaman is.
That’s why i think wow went with Dracthyr Evoker instead of just calling it something like Dragon mage.
I don’t think we know enough about the new class yet to determine if the name is appropriate.
Be all that as it may, Spiritborn is still a lazy choice IMO.
For my own peace, I’d rather have Shaman. That’s all I’m sayin’

It’s not unique. It’s the word Spirit. and the word Born. Mashed together.
Come on. Meet me half way here. They could have come up with something more ‘fitting’ I think.

Is there some information about the spirit born class I missed? How can we tell if it feels right or not when we have basically no information about it?
I’m just spouting my opinion here because I don’t like the name.
And also, since ALL of the leaks were 100% accurate, the description of the class sounds just like a Shaman.
I’ll just wait to see them showcase the class next month before i bash them to hard over the name

Yes but have you considered changing the name to Druid? And then change the name of current druid to Garbage.
