People were not actually asking to nerf SB...they were asking to buff other classes

Please see the difference. Just buff other classes and call it a day.

EDIT:
Other classes have too few A and S tier builds. It is like night and day when playing my Rogue and Sorc vs playing my SB. Anyone who says other classes should not be buffed is just flat out wrong.

If this is what people were truly asking, everyone would be on board with that and supporting it.

I am not saying there ain’t ppl asking for that, there are, in fact I also asked for that. But it seems like the SB hate and personal attack, insult on SB player thread is more meaningful to these people.

Actually no I take that back, a lot of people were against the idea of being buffed to SB level… Which i find mind boggling but yet the same ppl want SB nerfed to oblivion

no 1 hates the SB class … point being … it needs to be Fixed not nerfed … as DEV said … should we FIX the SB …

I get that… Fixing SB would imply that the class will be nerfed in dmg though compare to now. The question is how much less dmg etc etc… I am not sayin devs won’t throw in other buffs along with the fix to balance the loss in dmg but, we have to wait and see.

no fixing the SB will imply … that they will fix somethings that is broken … and they were never intended to have … how is that a nerf … if u was never intented to do Quadrillions of dmg Oo

You aren’t wrong about that statement. But Im afraid the reality won’t be as easy and clear cut as you making it out to be. Way too many people are already playing SB and doing this much dmg . When the fix comes in, regardless of how you word it, even if true - is not going to be taken happily by the SB player base.

Because this kind of damage is the normal in many people’s reception with the class now.

The class is going to get nerfed whether people want it or not. Its abusing several bugs that the devs didn’t intend to happen. Whether that is through oversight or an actual bug, it doesn’t matter. Its too powerful. They did a stat squish and the class is like hitting quintillions of damage.

In saying that, the damage to the season is already done. Nerfing it now wouldn’t do anything for them. It’s not going to make people come back to this dog crap season. I also feel all the other classes are under tuned. Even without spiritborn, I think they are. If they buff the classes to a better state them maybe some people come back to play them but there are a lot of other things wrong with this season.

I disagree. That will cause an entirely new can of problems far worse than this one.

Everyone will be screaming “there’s no endgame” by next week. SB’s are already starting that process now. If you’re running a 16 week season, you should need to take until week 12 to get your character decked out with whatever the average hourly play is. Decked out should take you to 95% completed of the hardest content, with the 5% untouched being reserved for people who play more skillfully with that same level of gear.

I know they will fix SB somehow - I am not denying it. I am just speaking of the general reception to that when it happens.

I am perfectly fine with it when they do fix SB. I doubt the class will be trash tier by any means.

Then when they fix the Sporn bugs, which are many, the other classes will be miles ahead of it, if they buff the other classes to where it is now. Then they’ll potentially have fewer people buying the expansion, if those people are still on the fence or simply haven’t gotten around to it yet, because everyone will know that in like 8-9 weeks the expansion class will be far weaker than everything else.

Yeah, I think the class is really well designed. If it were more in line, it would still be one of my favorite if not favorite classes to play.

The thing that makes the class great, imo, is that there are just so many cool builds that all feel fun and different to play. It has so much well thought out synergies that other classes dont really have much of. Next closest thing is rogue. Im sure thats no coincidence since they have the same class developer. All the other classes onlt have one or two builds per season and that has been the biggest problem of the game to me. Second biggest is boring loot.

No, very much asking for SB nerfs.
The game needs better balance. Buffing everyone means even worse balance.

SB class is not the issue in itself. It just happens to be the class most in need of nerfs this season. In previous seasons other classes have had that honor.

Besides, all classes should be nerfed.

Indeed.

absolutely - it has to do fundamentally how this class was designed. Also the uniques that enables the builds for the class is amazing.

I can see a lot of inspiration from the Monk class in D3, which was one of the more popular class there.

You can’t do that effectively. It requires orders of magnitude more dev time than squashing the bugs and capping bonus stacking would and is basically never the answer from a design perspective. :v:

Buffing other classes is a horrible idea, as Blizzard will have a hard time walking back on that, when they do nerf SB (probably next season), and will have to nerf the other classes too. The playerbase won’t understand this and will cry like children throwing a tantrum when they see nerfs.

Better for Blizzard to leave SB broken for a season, as it’s really too late to nerf now (although they could fix the bugs and unintended interactions causing trillions+ of damage) clearly communicate that it will be nerfed by next season, as the other classes are decently balanced and SB is really the outlier. SB needs to be brought down to the other classes level, not the other classes brought up to broken SB levels.

It’s the exact same scenario with Sorc Ball Lightning in S2. That was bugged but they left it in, as it was popular and players had already built their characters. Then they fixed the bug for S3.

Both needed to happen. SB are obnoxiously overtuned but other classes are also probably too weak. Without abusing bugs or being SB or running a highly optimized build T4 is just off limits, basically. And that sucks.

If Pit 150 is here to stay, I agree that other classes need buffs, or the Pit difficulty should return to its previous level. This way, general players can speed-farm Pit 101, while only elite players can chase 135-150.

I agree. As long as all classes are completely capable of semi efficiently running pit 101 I think a lot of people, including myself, would be satisfied and happy. Anything above that who really cares tbh. Not much benefit to do so.

Out of these options, that would be the best one.

Though, tbh, Blizzard should simply ensure that all endgame activities had the same upper difficulty limit. Having one activity above the others will always be a disaster for balancing.
Cant buff classes for Pits as it will screw everything else. But some people will throw a fit if nobody can do above Pit 101.

Tbh, just remove most of the Pit lvls. Having 150 difficulty tiers, regardless of balance, is just absurd.
20 tiers, where the first 15 corresponds to the difficulty in the rest of the game, and the last 5 tiers have 0 additional rewards, and might not be realistically doable, nor ever balanced around, could be the best middleground.
