Just because you spent
$100
Doesn’t mean you have to feel one way or the other.
Agreed, I’m approaching indifference tbh. After being disappointed with D4 for so long I’m getting to the point where I don’t care what happens to it. And no, this is not a good thing (some people who aren’t you will say this is good) because at that point people just straight up quit
Bruh

Eh, idk. The posts about “People are allowed to X” are getting pretty funny. Though with like, dislike, and indifferent I wonder what the next one will be
Lol, Today the official day of Allowance
Money worth spent, and if it’ll continue to provide what I like, I’ll buy it as well. If not then I won’t spend a thing.
Pretty simple idea.
Indifference is the end result when you stop caring. A lot of people I think are in this camp now, especially of the original cohort advocating for quality and substance. The hubris displayed by Finer’s team while employing an SUAEI mentality has resulted in dead season after dead season.
Opening up to PSN was a sad attempt at trying to validate their failing trajectory. I imagine the idea was something to the effect that the fault lied with the remaining player base and not the game. By infusing a new and large sample size of players the game would be validated by them sticking around and converting revenue with in game RMT and Expansion purchases. The game has been dead for a month now (comparatively speaking) and I don’t think they’ll see the conversion numbers or retention they were seeking.
Rod’s departure was a huge affirmation in my mind. I think once he got wiff of the results he put on his brown trousers and put out feelers. I was seeing him far more active on linkedin than he had been for 2 years, he was getting out before the proverbial sh*t hit the fan.
Prior to Rod’s departure we saw a number of quality employees leave not only Diablo IV but Blizzard as well. When your top talent starts leaving, you’ve got a toxicity problem. This started once Finer was promoted to Director, which I believe is the source of the toxicity.
Diablo IV had such great potential and a real chance at being the best Diablo game ever made. But instead it’s been pilfered for cash and professional gain. When I think of adjectives to describe the game words like lazy, greedy, irritating, and boring come to mind.
I had a stream of PSN newbies pass through my clan and nearly all of them used one or more of those same adjectives as reasons why they were quitting the game. It also really didn’t help that Blizz did zero observable work on the infrastructure as the game is still plagued by the same problems prior to the PSN gambit. All they did was manage to show a new cadre of players just how unprepared and “indie” this team is.
I saw yet another marked drop after the reddit post where a data analyst posted results of 3500 belial runs. It was sad — like I’d always suspected it was bad based on individual anecdotal observation, but this proved it was worse than any of us thought. As that analysis gained views and traction, game participation dropped markedly and obviously. Why bother playing a rigged game.
The game flow has become:
- Start game first week, level as fast as you can (or wait for others to do so and pay for carry)
- RMT belial mats and farm till you get what you want
- Alternatively just buy the gear you want with RMT
- play a bit
- quit
Not only is this pattern anhedonic, it also kills the experience for the few players who prefer to progress without RMT. The behavior is a source of piracy that the dev team has been wildly complacent about.
There’s so much that’s wrong, bad, or broken that this team blatantly ignores to pursue their own agendas that you can arrive at only one place… Indifference.
Indifference is the worst reaction a game could evoke. They need people to play it and b!tch about it as much as they need them to play it and praise it. Indifferent people quietly move away and are gone forever.
But yeah, indifference is totally allowed and probably the better option.
i would rather throw $100 to get screwed by D4 nerfs and humiliated by forum white knights than support the ii.
I think I did my “homework” so yes I guess at this point I’m allowed to feel indifferent

People are allowed to like Last Epoch Too.
Trading is boring and for the lazy
“We believe you, though have tricked us before. but, trick us again, child, and your suffering will be legendary even in HELL!”
Sir, you have to make your own thread.
I went from SUPER into it.
To super angry.
To a little in to it.
To REALLY angry.
To indifference now. I don’t even care to log in.
It’s heartbreaking really. I want to love the game. But it won’t let me.
You must love, or you must hate. There can be only one!
(or, I dunno, more if you’re into that silly “Highlander” thing)
I bet there is a pretty decent correlation between feeling indifferent about D4 and liking Last Epoch.
Having some good A-RPGs to play these days, makes the sad state of Diablo less significant.
So true. One can only imagine the internal politics in that team.
The fact all lead devs(game/creative director, etc.) managed to hold on to their roles despite the spectacular failure of the game, time and time again is a thing to behold.
This is a cursed team.
