Hi, i recently switched from playing with keyboard+mouse to an xbox elite2 controller with backflaps. I am looking for tips from other players on how to optimize ur layout. Which buttns have u asigned where? What works best for you? What do you use the backflaps for etc.
I am still playing from behind my desk, which allows pickup loot with my mouse. Doing this with the controller turns out to be a pain.

im using the xbox elite 1. the backpaddles are awesome indeed. personally i adore the program “ReWASD” which lets you basically configure everything on this controller. (just to add - no macros for d4. except you like bans =P)
play around with the backpaddles, at first i didnt use them too much, now i literally cant imagine playing without em ^^
dont listen to vlad. he cleary is a vampire 
what functions did you assign to them? You can also flip them over, making them easier to reach
depends on the game really. hence why i suggested you that program (even identifies the game you are playing and changes your setup accordingly). on some games i put some keyboard features on the backpaddles for some fast map access for example on some others, i use a macro, like in elden ring for certain item usage. as i said, play around with it. youll see what youll want to use! =)
just make sure do not use any kind of macros in d4.
yeah i know, wasnt allowed in d3 either, not sure why its such an dealbreaker for them considering the are no ladder system or anything in the game. Macros would just help with less clicking
The first thing you should do on any controller is change the basic skill button (usually A) to not be the button that interacts with things. I use R stick to interact that way I don’t click on things when I’m trying to use an ability.
r stick is zoom in and outi believe. Can the back flpas only be used as duplicates of other buttons cos that seems weird.
Currently i keep switching to my mouse whenever i wanna pick up loot, cos with the controller you cant really point to specific loot, instead u eitehr pick up everything or nothing.
