Complete opposite scenario for me, on my I5-2500K 1660 TI 16gb ddr3 I’ve gotten a massive performance boost, no stuttering, higher framerate at higher graphics settings, gpu fan isn’t even kicking on because its not being taxed to all hell while GPU utilization is still close to 100%. GPU is around 60c which is lower than usual for me.
5800X3D
4070ti
64 GB DDR4
all maxed out, fps capped on 144 on 2560x1440
gpu 38°C
cpu 49°C
RTX 4070 and i5 9600K, 32GB DDR4… No temp issues anywhere. No FPS issues either. 4K max settings. Tomorrow will include DLSS2 for moar framez!
So I sat with everything at lowest possible, framerate set to 30. Messed around with different options and I found the “Resolution Rendering %” i think… its a bar… anyways that setting has a massive effect on my GPU temp.
Frame rate was next most intensive. Other than that most other settings have very little effect on my GPU.
I also found that sitting in the character select screen has the same “send PC into volcano mode” effect. Strange thing is the game runs smooth no matter what settings I use. It never does anything odd for me. CPU never has any issues.
On my sons PC D4 caused his system to restart twice. We have never seen his computer do that before so pretty good chance D4 is the cause of that. Haven’t tested anymore heat issues on his because I don’t know what was causing the restarts and don’t want to damage anything.
Some weird stuff going on because if have seen people with old PCs doing pretty good and lots with new PCs trying to set themselves on fire.
in most situations you’d be cpu bound which causes lower load and temps on gpu but it sounds like the game is playable on 12 year old cpu, that is nice.
GPU heat is the main issue for me. 95°C sitting in town on lowest settings and frame rate cap set at 60. Can run almost every other modern game on high/ultra.
FWIW, though skipping this beta, I’ve run the last two, plus previous betas on an RTX 2070 Super and 3060 on desktops and an RTX 3070 on a laptop without any issues, using the default installed settings.
sad day…you cant play a garbage game…they are doing you all a favor.
Same setup except 32GB RAM. Temperatures about the same.
Last beta was far worse for me. Low to Med settings would at time max my 3070 ti, my 32gb of memory, 60% or more utilization on my CPU (Ryzen 5950x). Now Im running High Settings and barely passing 40% GPU, 15% CPU. Still sucks my RAM but its still better than before
they don’t care about us pc players they all want the console peasants and why key board and mouse users and pc players get shafted and crappy optimizations
Tried to play for an hour. Studdering badly. Rysen 5700x snd rx6800. Finally gave up.
TLDR - potato PC w/ old GPU running really nice, 150-151 fps outside town, 90-120 in town (Kyovashad) first 2-3 hrs of play. (DLSS balanced enabled, default High preset)
Intel 4790k + 2070 Super, 16GB ram @ 2560x1400 , 165hz monitor
GPU temp 69-74 C, CPU 60
Installed D4 w/out 4k high texture pack, just base installation. So far only solo play 2-3 hrs to first major town, so maybe diff performance around lots of players but on this potato I’ve never dipped below 90 fps (w/ DLSS), avg 150 outside town or dungeon, and 90-120 with other players visible in town.
Am building brand new 13700k + 4090 + 32GB ram comp next week when parts arrive but so far on this potato am pleasantly surprised how well it runs.
I7 8700k slight oc to 4.7
3070ti
32 gigs ddr 4 @4000
Nothing special m.2
Running 100fps at 4k ultra settings. 64C peaks.
Sounds like a you and air flow/cooling solution issue.
I have here I9 6 Ghz + DDR5 + 4090. Everything is perfect, You just use Afterburner to reduce the power of GPU…4090 Is so powerful that you can run it on 80% max non-stop for all software.
Running on 1080p max settings capped at 60fps on:
I5 12600k
3060 TI
32GB Ram
Nvme
Temps barely entering 50c on gpu and barely exiting 30c on cpu.
Honestly running 100% better than previous betas with practically zero lag when initially entering town. Textures and gameplay seems more cohesive and smoother.
Some things you just have to chalk up as an isolated incident - which sucks, but once again…
One persons experience and opinion doesnt reflect the collective experience and opinions of all players.
NTB
ASUS ROG Strix G15 Advantage Edition G513QY-HQ008T
AMD Ryzen 9 5900HX - processor
AMD Radeon RX 6800M - graphic card
16GB Ram
Before I start D4 temperature of processor is cca 60°C and when I play it is over 90°C WITH COOLING PAD. I even set medium quality from default High but still when I enter into some dungeons my notebook shut down, that never happened in first open beta so it must be on blizz side, because it sometimes shut my ntb in WOW dungs, but there I also lowed visual quality and after that I dont have problems yet but didnt measure temperature.
Your PC being hot doesn’t mean the game is badly optimised, it just means your GPU is working at full load.
I’m maxing it out at 1080p on RTX 2060/Ryzen 5 2600 and they’re barely heating up. The game barely consumes more than a Chrome tab. You’re doing something wrong.
5800x3D around 65-75 degree, 6900XT undervolted around 75 degree… 1440p Ultra 120-170 fps
The last beta showed me 250 fps without DLSS and 400 fps with DLSS within 4K resolution.
All settings max, 4K resolution - looks crazy good!
My Spec:
- i9 6 GHz
- DDR5
- Ada 4090
In this case, I use Afterburner to reduce GPU Power (50%) to have total silence, and also CPU has software to reduce cores dedicated to the game.
