Patch Rollback - I've been crashing since the start of the season

I chuckled at the patch rollback today as crashing has been an issue since the start of the season. Think the patch helped bring to the forefront an already underlying issue.

Anyone else been randomly crashing sense the start of the season?

Personally I think its a memory leak as some time has to pass before I crash. If I visit a lot of different environments it brings on the crash much faster.

I’ve crashed, froze and been dumped to desktop (with no error codes) more times this season than I have in the previous 8 seasons combined.

Maybe, they’ll get it right for s10.

I haven’t crashed this season, sorry you are having problems though.

I lol’d when I saw the notice of the rollback…

It’s such a Blizzard thing anymore.

1 step forward, two steps… oh who am I kidding … more like three steps back into a spike lined pit lol.

I have been crashing this season big time, like every 30 mins, out of memory crash, bluescreen or black screen of death. Its not my rig, every other game works fine, and no i dont have any cooling problems. 7800X3D + 32GB RAM + RTX 5080, should run this potato game without a hitch. Problem seems to be some sort of mega memory leak, it fills VRAM and RAM to the point where PC hard locks.

I’ve been one of the lucky ones to rarely have issues with the game myself. Might I ask are you on a higher end machine? 4070+ card with a 14600k+ / 7600X+ processor? I’ve noticed it’s a common theme around the forums that the better system you have, the more problems you have with running the game. Not always mind you, but most people who post about problems typically have higher-end PC’s.

I haven’t had any crashes this nor most other seasons. I have had some jerky, freezing play at times.

lol 4 hours and still no update?

Not high end at all

R5 5600g

64GB DDR4 (xmp profile 3200Mhz)
D4 sits on Gen 4 nvme, along with D3 and about half a dozen other games.

This is the only season, where I’ve had this many problems… reported numerous times as well. I’ve done just about everything you can, rollbacks on graphics drivers, cache sizes, limiting FPS… some days are great, no freezes, no STD and it’s fluid to play, just like previous seasons, other times though, I can barely play 30mins, sometimes a lot less before my PC either hard freezes requiring a complete reboot or STD with no error codes and event viewer shows nothing. None of my other games act like this, which makes it so maddening.

It has to be Nvidia’s super crappy drivers… but seeing as they’re more interested in AI, I doubt the situation will improve any.

Had my first Black Screen of death yesterday (Windows PC). This season has been very laggy. Last season crashed a lot and several DC’s

Agreed. This season something is wrong. Haven’t had this much trouble since original release and that was before i upgraded my computer.
I keep taking a break to see if they will fix the massive frequency of lag-death, rubber-banding, and just freeze-drops out of game. Then i come back, it gets a little better and then they patch and ruin it again.
Just unplayable this way.
I’ll give ot a few more days and see if it has gotten better…

My RIG:

  • i7 (6th gen) Windows 11
  • 16GB RAM | 6GB GPU
  • GTX 1660s (566.36 driver)
  • Just a normal 256 SSD

Never had a crash since but only FPS drops in Cerrigar.
I also play on console, and it stuck sometimes during loading screens.

I might have something useful to share. My issues with an appalling number of disconnects (which was NOT an issue for me last season) actually started with the launch of the latest season of Diablo 3. I had something like 8 per day, across all 3 Diablo 3 servers. This unfortunate trend continues to plague me in D4.
I have tried every suggestion on the site, even uninstalled and reinstalled the game. Same deal. I’ll be rolling along and suddenly everything around me is running in place. In D3, it was client disconnect again and again.
I might suspect it was my internet connection, but I did not have these issues last season, in either game. Looks like a server issue.
