I think what we need is a better reason to pick up loot. When you see an ancestral helm or armor on the floor, it is already junk before you look at it. Since the mythics in those slots are so massively overtuned, they can only be rivaled by a few uniques.
Sets would take away from that even more. Instead of helms and armor being junk, suddenly most of your slots are just waiting for the next set piece.
Don’t get me wrong I like D3 but sets/powercreep were probably my least favorite part about it.
They should make legendaries useful again. Tbh season 4 had the most interesting loot since builds were not using too many uniques before the rework in season 5. You actually had a reason to look at your loot since any of it could be an upgrade.
