Patch notes seem solid

Didn’t watch the stream, but honestly these notes seem pretty good:

Am I missing something obviously bad?

You got your wish if you wanted increased Crit and Vulnerable damage on gear to be completely additive damage.

They did add new multipliers though, so could be interesting. But its gonna be weird with crit and vulnerable stats on gear having same value as all other sources of increased damage (except for their base values)…

They are still multiplicative till a cap and with the increases to them on items def will be number 1 and 2 stats still

I was just happy to see resistances in a decent state honestly

All increased crit/ vulnerable damage on gear will be extra additive damage. But the base crit/ vulnerable multiplicative damage will still be there, probably still the most valuable thing for any build. So increased crit chance and sources of vulnerable, will still be good.

Sorc Hydra got a 400% damage increase (!) which is promising.
Their damage scales of player weapon rather than mob health, I dunno what this implies in reality…

  • Ring of Mendeln
    • The unique power no longer requires 7 or more minions to be active.

they hit super hard when it was based of hp aka mob level. lol

Sorc got like almost 2 full pages of bug fixes…yikes…

I think one of the things that worried me personally was the new item level change and trivializing the game. It looks like they are trying to avoid that though by reworking enemies as well.

I feel like these notes seem really good. Idk how it will actually play, but it looks like a good direction.

At the end of the day I am not coming back until the game is fun to play. So far so good, looks like they are on the right track, but it will be quite some time before they start making the necessary heavy hitting gameplay changes like a loot 2.0 type of update to clean up the remaining garbage.

Good work so far, keep it up.

Overall what i heard was pretty solid, but i did not hear a lot about this affix bloat getting stomped. Did i miss it?

This means no more NM 100 Hydra scaling. In reality you can’t have level 60 or 70 Sorcs doing tier 100 with Hydras anymore.

But now Hydra is useful below tier 100s. The damage scaling with weapon is interesting because prior to S2 it only scales on the level , so we don’t know how much it will do with weapon scaling plus all these new buffs to Conjuration and Hydra itself.

If they are true to their words, they are nerfing and buffing to make things balance, it probably means we will still get the same results.

It looks like their current choice is to make unused affixes more appealing rather than making fewer affix options.

I agree, I just got notified on Twitter and checked it out, was happy to see them change some of the challenges with dungeons such as lightning storm only happening during combat.

And just lots of quality of life improvements around the towns/cities.

I’ve played since launch, maxed out the battle pass and was going to take a break for S2. But maybe, I’ll actually get into it again, we shall see.

And the Boneprison Bug is fixed, damn😅

But Minion Dmg Glyph and Notes (like the Golem 40%dmg, now 100%, but this Note wasnt working before) are not fixed? Minion Basedmg increased, but increasing shdmg is still shdmg🥴

Maybe a Minion Build will work okaaaay with the season stuff, we will try out and see what this little slaves can do!

I hope they “shadowfixed” it and they only forgot it to write it into the patchnotes.

It was absolutely necessary though, Crit*Vuln and Monster HP scaled through the roof compared to everything else

Also - you’re getting a separation between armor and resistances so you’ll have to take care on your defensive profile (not just offensive) a bit more

Not missing anything bad, people will tell you otherwise. Long term the changes to crit/vuln/op is good, short term it feels like a huge nerf. But they also changed enemies to compensate for that loss of damage as well. We won’t be hitting D3 trillion numbers anytime soon is what it comes down to, which I’m all for.

The class changes are solid poo. The affix changes are fine. But they didn’t touch the uniques at all, and character balance is so off still, it’s not even close.

I see a lot of unique changes under each individual class in the specific class changes of the patch notes. But I don’t play anything other then necro and rogue so I feel it didn’t affect me as much looking over the changes.

Gonna guess it wasn’t enough to change sorc around?
