Patch Notes for Barb

Kinda disappointed was hoping to see some compensation to the massive hota nerf (bug fix) as well as ghors getting a rework (getting rid of attack speed for crit chance or something) and removing the two second mandatory damage burst which makes them useless. I get trying to uplift our other builds (I’m not a math guy so I have no idea if the buffs matter or not) but let’s be real without the barber caged heart none of our builds are close to the level of rouge or druid, super sad and probably going to play remnant 2 til season 2-3 lol

Lets hope the “not final” works in our favor.

They did say it was mainly focused on sorc this time around, but I wont hold my breath.

At first my thought was they’d nerf all the other classes to hit the baseline with the barb/sorc but instead they just increased the overall baseline for all classes with these buffs, leaving barb exactly in a similar spot as before.

There’s no point in buffing a weak class to a baseline, if you then also buff the other characters that perform over said baseline…

Overall changes do feel pretty meh, but the WA buff is nice, and I’m kind of intersed in how good the Frenzy Amulet is after this patch, because 45% IAS on HoTA/Upheaval would be pretty significant to say the least.

I really hope so. Those changes were underwhelming to say the least. The only one with impact looks like the charge buff.

The whole problem started when the barb meta builds were overperforming (at least in Blizz’s eyes) using assets that were actually intended to make other barb builds viable (e.g. bleed). That has basically turned into a sequence of nerfs for most barb builds.

I’m sure they are concerned about making enhancements that, yet again, immediately get leveraged by the WW/HotA crowd. So other than the general buff to basics, they’ve specifically targeted things that will help improve build diversity. I think if the build diversity improves, we’ll be more likely to see general enhancements to the class.

As someone who is currently using charge, they absolutely need to fix the bug where the whole charge can whiff before it can be a really viable option.

Aww, I forgot charge is broken too. So both skills that got significant boosts are bugged, one can miss and the other heals the enemy!

Is charge triggering berserk yet? I stopped using charge when I realized it was bugged and wasn’t triggering Berserk with……can’t think of the name, the skill that causes all brawling skills to trigger berserk.

it will be fixed in patch 1.1.1 I believe.

This has to be joke by Blizzard. They say they listen, and than do the oposite. Hota and WW damage are a joke, and nothing in that patch is going to fix that by even 1%. Not one of those morons actually play the class and understand how it actually plays endgame. I had low expectations before the dumpster talks, but they actually surprised me with how out of touch they are. Feel bad for all the Barbs in this game. The devs just hate the class.

Unconstrained won’t match Unbridle Rage damage output. The day it does, everyone will swap over never picking UR again because of the Fury cost. Blizzard doesn’t understand yet. Damage isn’t everything. Utility has a place too.

I think sorc still has a bigger problem. I have been playing barb and a little bit of sorc this season and barbarian are still plentiful while I see only a few sorc around now compared to pre-season.

Except frenzy stacks last 2 seconds. So its useless

You could target lock them before you charge.

This, is so important to continue to give feedback but man… you can only get spit in the face some many times . Barbarians are like the abused wife of Diablo, getting promised “things will change” again and again.

You definitely described how I feel 100% I travel for work so I even bought 170 dollar travel case to play d4 on my series x out of town. Played the beta had a lot of fun with upheaval plus I got a crazy bold chieftains ring and I feel since the game dropped (I didn’t no life the game enough to experience how busted ww was with ghors and by the time I got my bold chieftains it had already been cut in half) I’ve been chasing that power fantasy I had in the beta like a crackhead, just mowing enemies down with insta shouts up. It felt like what a barb should feel like but with these insane and constant nerfs the magic is kind of gone. I’ve been playing remnant 2 but I wish I was playing day 1 d4 instead of this sad monstrosity we have now, I’d like the believe the devs will fix things eventually but it seems like that’s a long long time from now. Alright I’m off my soapbox thanks for reading haha

The way to measure the efficiency of a particular class is to see how well can the class perform at Endgame.

Unfortunately, the 2 strongest build for barb is not being looked into. I can understand, by looking into it is slapping their own face, but barb was killed long ago.

There’s a few comforting jokes thou, rework hellhammer, add some fury generating aid, strengthen some useless aspects, etc… then proceed to pat their own back calling a job well done.

They dont understand the very fundamental need for a class to work. Barb can just be the waterboy beside a race watching Rogue, Druid n Necro plow down high NMDs.

Not really.

Unconstrained only makes sense with WoTB and chaining multiple damage amps, so its a style of gameplay where youre always running against the clock.

Its in theory our highest scaling damage option. I think with patch and the higher density its going be a nice alternative.
