Patch note problems details and hidden hotfix

Good afternoon. As a player who likes to follow the game’s development and take everything into account when building characters, I don’t really understand vague updates, hidden nerfs, and disabled items.

I heard from a friend that items were disabled for the barbarian, but this was not announced anywhere. Additionally, one of the stats was removed from the barbarian’s body, which was also crucial for them. However, I opened the patch notes and couldn’t find any mention of these changes.

Sometimes, when I play as my rogue, I feel like the character is dealing less damage or fewer critical hits. However, when I download another 180-megabyte patch and check the patch notes, they are empty.

I have a feeling that the developers are gaslighting me by not informing the players about what’s happening in the game. I find this attitude disappointing, especially when compared to other companies in this genre that provide detailed patch notes for every change. These patch notes are essential for me to avoid feeling foolish and to plan my character’s development effectively. It’s unpleasant to discover that an item has been disabled or fixed without any prior notice because it wasn’t functioning correctly, leaving me confused.

Furthermore, there is a lack of a property list when rerolling items. It’s frustrating to blindly hope for the desired properties without any indication of whether they can actually appear on the item or not.

Thank you for your attention. This is only a small part of what I wanted to express.

Check the blizz track in the forum, they do say stuff like that there.

“We have temporarily disabled “Edgemaster’s Aspect” and “Aspect of Berserk Ripping” from the game while the team works to resolve some issues with these specific affixes. Items that currently using these affixes will still be usable but will no longer proc until they have been re-enabled. We will upd…”

Two posts right at the top of the Forum. They do indeed let people know when they disable things.

Are you, guys, really saying that since someone wrote something-about-changes in some forum, the changes may be omitted from patch notes? Seriously?

Patch notes are form of customer notification. Literally, they are official informational channel. The update issuer must notify about changes, it’s not like customer should run around trying to get information what’s new.

For me - I’m greatly disappointed too with Blizzard. This game is not cheap in my region and I expect Blizzard should provide a good customer’s service for that price.

They do it all the time. Because it’s not applied in a patch, it’s applied in-game immediately.

no, but such a negative experience for the first time

You’re speaking about the way of changes, not about way of people notification.
I don’t see any reason why Blizzard can’t add those changes to patch notes.
As player, I don’t care where they applied the change, I care about the change itself.

It was announced, make sure you look at the Blizz Tracker.
Also if you’re looking for information in general, you have to look on the internet, this is how it works today in gaming (since 15+ years).

As a software developer, I can empathize a little with Blizzard on keeping up with crap like this, but come on, their team is large enough that it could be someone’s primary job to keep track of everything. Those patch notes you provided appear specific to client and do not include the server-side changes already mentioned in this thread. They could do a lot more to be transparent about the updates, but there’s probably no real incentive to advertise nerfs, so they don’t.

This is how Blizzard has been operating for years. PC players just roll with it as they’re now used to the abuse and disrespect Blizzard dishes towards them.

But there is no note about these changes in the PS5 launcher of this game whatsoever. There’s dozens of console players running around with those aspects unaware they’re not even working because why would they check the forums. Blizzard doesn’t give two f***s about them though, that much is certain.

I totally agree with you, I log in with my barb and find out i can not do bleed dmg any more, so immedietly i went to check the patch note, but there are no single words mentioning about this. so I thought it might be a bug, then i have to post to find out. To be honest, they should not only mention every single change in patch note, they show also leave recent changes and updates in ingame tooltips.

Almost my case. Last time I opened this forum was around 2015.
Usually I prefer to enjoying game than looking up for answers, why, oh, why some feature stopped working as it was before - I have enough of this s**t on my job.

Looks like I should stop playing Blizzard games for a while, till they come to their senses and make the game at least stable from the point of changes, like I did with first versions of Diablo 3 (yeah, I remember the pain playing versions < 1.0.6). But, hey, back then Blizzard notified players about the changes, why stop now?

Welcome to 2005, when tons of people were saying this on the WoW forums. They never really changed this behavior.

Removed from their body?

You used to be able to roll %shout cooldown reduction on certain barb gear. They removed the ability to do so but it hasn’t appeared in any patch notes.
