Giving rewards to those who play the PTR is a scumbag way to punish those who play on Steam and have no option to install the test version. The only reward for those playing on other platforms is being treated like suckers by Blizzard, even after buying Deluxe editions.
What actually happens is that anyone who buys the game directly on Battle.net has the option to install the PTR build, while those of us who bought it on other platforms aren’t given that option. This creates an unfair disadvantage. Since it’s just a test realm, they should let everyone install it so that at season launch—even though we’re playing the exact same game—we could have the same mechanical edge and performance prep as PTR players.
Now, to make matters worse, they’re handing out rewards to PTR testers. This shows absolute contempt for their player base. On top of that, they keep ruining core game mechanics with changes coming straight out of the dystopian mindset of devs who only create rules but never actually experience competitive gameplay—creating issues that shouldn’t have existed in the first place. They release classes that simply fail to perform, with the current disaster of the Paladin and Warlock being prime examples.
Maybe it’s time to move on to other options available on Steam.

Edit: oh you mean the thing they’re sending on the PTR to test it? I don’t think anyone gets to keep that. It’s just a test on the PTR.

The real problem is not being able to install the test version if you play on Steam. Sure, the reward itself is useless, but locked-out testing for other platforms is just dirty.

That doesn’t change the fact that not providing the test version to Steam players is dishonest. What you as a moderator fail to understand is that a player is a customer—and if you don’t care about players getting screwed over, keep laughing, which seems to be what you’re always doing anyway.

Dishonest, dirty. I get the fomo, but not implementing PTRs across all possible platforms is nothing of sort.
And dishonest? How? What are they lying about? How are they deceiving? How are they misleading… by not letting non-Bnet players use a PTR?

Well the whole shop is built around triggering fomo with the temporarily available items instead of being purchasable 24/7.
I get it, but unless you’re going for 100% mtx collection (which you honestly shouldn’t), you won’t really miss anything. Maybe later it will be pop up as free shop reward for you as well.
