exhilarating fun, FO is back !
Though I am only farming pit 75 lol, but I can feel most of the glory has returned from PTR. Just not in the damage department. No matter, with the nerf in place now my FO is once again super fun to play in the pit.
Mind you I am playing with a 12/12 Master Shako and 8/12 Starless =)

Its not back though because its still pitiful against other classes. I rolled a barb a week ago, gears not even that good yet and im in high 90 pits. Plus, pit difficulty just went down so its all relative

What sucks is with FO you need essentially near perfect gear/tempers to hit even moderate damage levels. The final build is so unique heavy that it has hardly any room for decent legendary affixes, and losing that many tempers really, really sucks. I do wish we could just jettison Tal Rasha’s already. It’s just as bad for the game as Convention of Elements is for D3, probably worse due to the fact this ring serves as yet another frustrating multiplier that forces us to water down virtually all builds in favor of the multiplier.
I’d much rather see Tal Rasha’s go and something like the explosions being counted as ice spikes so we could use thematically fun things like Blue Rose.
Sadly, until you get a really good set of masterworking procs, especially on your uber uniques, and high end tempers, breaking into Tier 60+ is going to be an uphill battle for most players.

Frozen didnt really get any stronger with the patch. If youre doing higher pit levels than before its because the pit itself got nerfed. Its not frozen orb getting stronger.
Frozen orb would need like 20 times the damage it does now to compete with the other “S” tier builds like Heartseeker, Andy Visage Puncture, multiple barb builds and so on.
Doing 4-5 million crits doesnt really cut it anymore when other classes/builds are doing hundreds of millions/trillion damage crits/ticks.

That’s what they wanted you to think. Now everyone can do pit 100 without ubers. Wouldn’t it be better to buff frozen orb? Some buffs are ridiculous, chain lighting is interesting but very weak. Same as incinerate. It seems like they don’t play their game. Some buildings make pit 120 and others pit 60.

No I get it… the build didn’t actually get stronger, it is just content bring brought down. I wish they buffed the build instead .
Forced uniques should come with 1 or 2 more enchantment slots.
A similar thing should happen with Druid. Get rid of sprit bonding and allow a total of 8 choices. 1 from each category and the rest from wherever the play chooses.
That would be the easiest way to bring these two classes up in terms of damage.
I can now speed farm pit 103 with my barb, and can’t get anywhere near that with my frozen orb sorc. The damage output is painfully low in comparison, and if I get hit without fireshield or barrier up, I’m one shot. I’ve tried running a variation with temerity + ever living to create a perma barrier, and I still get one hit through the barrier sometimes on higher pits … and absolutely forget about even trying to kill uber lilith with a frozen orb sorc.
My barb character sheet is 63,000 dps, and when the buffs stack that bloat up to 280,000 dps. Same goes for my Golem necro … with all the damage buffs (e.g. the 240% shadowblight stack, dps gets up to 270,000. Every variation of the sorc I play can’t get anywhere near that. They just don’t have the multiplicative damage skills, and they don’t have enough equipment slots. The sorc needs a second amulet slot.
